Guess what? You know that Harmony Agency story I was thinking about? I changed the idea... a lot. It's no longer futuristic, the name of the story has changed, and I will not be using any of the Mane 6 as main characters. You may be asking, "If it's not futuristic, then what is it?" Well, it could be a number of things... is it stone age? Is it medieval? Modern? The part of time where we have irradiated cockroach-pony mutant hybrids running around and eating pork and beans from cans? It is none of these.
The story's new name will be Latin:: Ordinis Libra. Translated, it means "Order of Balance". And take a guess at what era and technology level it is... maybe this will help...

Got it? Good... that took a while, didn't it? It's gonna be steampunk. I will put it in a Victorian/American Civil War-era setting. If you're fortunate enough to have been told more about this than what I've told you in this blog post, consider yourself one of my close advisors/go-to people for ideas and feedback. If you haven't, I still value your opinion considerably, and if you would like to ask more about it, just talk to me, or anything else, just PM me.
If that wasn't enough for you, I'm accepting OC requests for a story that I haven't wrote a single word of. If you would like to submit one, please use the following template.
Name: (Well, uh... this shouldn't be too hard to understand.)
Species: (Ponies, griffons, dragons, diamond dogs, and other intelligent races are good. Please... no humans or alicorns. Whatsoever. Or I will kill them with fire... and chainsaws... and stab them through the eye socket with this random pen next to me.)
Appearance: (Give as much as you want, but enough for me to understand and be able to describe what they look like. Don't forget to include cutie marks for ponies.)
Background: (You don't have to give me their life's story. But make sure you have a few significant events in there. Don't make them seem like utter badasses either, I won't be having any Mary Sues or Gary Stu's in this story.)
Personality: (Please make them have some flaws, and not be a goodie two-shoes. If you want to make an insane, murderous and utterly sadistic psychopath who eats babies and shits pentagrams, go ahead. Any Gary Stu or Mary Sue I find I will cut open with a rusty spoon and bake into cookies to feed to Derpius. Please... think of my poor Ambassador.)
I understand that you're not going on much to make these characters, and have no idea how exactly the world is going to be, but I will help you out with integrating your character once you send them in. I hope you're excited, and feel free to NOT PUT ME TO DEATH FOR NOT HAVING THE NEXT T.O.S. CHAPTER OUT YET! :'(

A few things though:
1. Why am I not an advisor?
2. I assume you want the OCs to be PM'd?
3. How long will you draw out the story?
4. How advanced will the steampunk be? simple pistols and basic steamworks, or more advanced as in coal and metalworks?
These things are VERY important in OC making... I tell you that now

4. Advanced. Think of a alternate electricity power, advanced magic, vehicles, and other things of the like. No robots or things like that however.

This is a turn of events I did not entirely expect, but I can see how you would want to write something else while you have the muse for it. I would do it too. Nevertheless I am excited for your new project and if you do require assistance feel free to ask me for anything except sex, I don't sway that way.
Oh yea! Steampunk! I love it!
I have just one request: The story must include pirates. Sky pirates. Because that would be awsome.
Oh, and I'll have an OC ready for submission fairly soon.
And a word of warning about writing steampunk: You can't just stick gears onto normal things and call them steampunk. Whilst gears are an integral part of steampunk tech, it still has to be practical, and it needs to be believeable.
Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. I'm the guy that secretly hopes to loose an arm so I can get a prosthetic limb that looks like this:
