I promise to update Octavia's Fairy Tale soon, but I've just been feeling a little unmotivated due to an email I received from EQD. I had submitted the story to EQD in hopes of it making it and well it never did; the reason was mainly due to grammar which is of course understandable. So I got a few friends of mine to look over it and fix any mistakes they seen and so they did. I then submitted it again and well... it failed. I was of course a bit upset by it and a little angry; any normal person would be. To be honest I don't think it was the fact I got rejected that demotivated me, I believe it was the way the letter was wrote. This is the letter I received.

"Dear Author,

Thank you for submitting your work to Equestria Daily. I regret to inform you that I am unable to approve it for publication now or ever.

The initial reading of the first paragraph was almost enough to make me throw out the 'rejection' stamp, but in the interest of fairness I read further into the story to consider its potential narrative. Several further paragraphs (including the overwrought bickering of Octavia's parents, presumably set to a Linkin Park soundtrack), however, sealed this story's place on Fimfiction.

In short: this is a faltering execution of something that would be more at home in a Livejournal post than as a pony story.

I apologize if this review is unnecessarily harsh. This is not a jab at your worth as a person or a writer, but this story is one that will not be considered for a second submission to EQD."

It kinda left me questioning if I was a good writer and I know I'm nothing special like the big names out there, but even so I still thought I was at least decent... Now I'm just wondering, but I do promise to update Octavia's Fairy Tale soon, I've just been in no writing mood. So I really hope you all understand and don't hold it against me. P.S - Sorry if I sound like I'm overreacting or being a whiny person in anyway and Two Sides of The Same Coin should be getting another chapter soon too.

I cannot recommend this for posting.

Look for errors in the following areas:
Hyphen/dash use
Dialogue punctuation
Comma use
Thought punctuation
There were a few cases of ellipsis overload in the narration, and a few awkward phrasings that hindered comprehension of the story, but on the whole, this was fairly enjoyable, which is more than I can say for most fanfics that I read for pre-reading.

This is the story's first strike out of a possible three.

I couldn't care any less about EqD. I think that this is a much better place for every writer who wants to write about ponies.

Psi, you're a really great writer. Don't let some stuck-up fools who don't know a great story when they see one decide what you do. Stick to doing what you like. So what if you don't get a thousand views a day? Very few people do.
