The 1080 continues to impress. · 8:22am May 24th, 2017

Well, I generally don't juggle too many games at once. I usually commit to 2-3 at a time. Any more than that, and someone's getting left in the dust and forgotten for months or more.

So because of a 50% off sale on Origin, I'm only now picking this up:

Because back in November I was very heavily focused on Titanfall 2, and EA was all "hurr durr let's release entries in our two biggest shooter franchises at the same time and hinder both playerbases".

So I went to the Battlefield 1 subreddit and asked opinions about the campaign being worth $30. After I got three resounding "Campaign is good, but no", I considered picking it up for the multiplayer as well, since I'm slowly beginning to tire of Titanfall 2 for the time being, and I need something to continue justifying this $550 graphics card I installed two weeks ago. So I splurged for the Ultimate Edition, saving $60 instead of $30.

And... Wow.

Not only is this game freaking beautiful, but I have gotten through 5 of the 6 "War Stories" (Battlefield 1's campaign') and I already think I'd have gotten my $30 worth, if I had gone that route. This is a war game done right. This shows us that you don't always have to stick with a single character or cast of characters for 8-10 hours. These 1-2 hour slices of these different WW1 experiences are expertly crafted, and a powerful representation of events that unfolded a century ago.

I have only played one multiplayer match so far, a victorious Conquest match, and am happy to say that I didn't get slaughtered by opponents that have a seven-month head start.

I'm not abandoning Titanfall 2 either. Especially because, finally, my baby is getting its Prime version in a week:

That'll definitely help in my push to Gen 10. Then hopefully Frontier Defense (please in June, Respawn) will keep me interested until I hit Gen 15.

Also getting caught up on Season 7, after falling a month behind. I've now watched Fluttershy Leans In, Forever Filly, and Parental Glideance.

I saw the ending of Fluttershy Leans In coming from 15 minutes away, Forever Filly was an awesome episode and lesson, and Parental Glideance finally gave RD fans what we've been waiting frankly FOREVER for. And it didn't disappoint. In short, Season 7 is awesome so far.

And what's with Canada getting these episodes early?

I already know you're better than us down here, Canada, so stop rubbing it in. Sheesh.
