My writing style and headcanon

Greetings and thanks for reading.

I just want to bring you up to speed on how I write, the world my ponies live in, and the personalities of the ponies I write. This will jumble a bit and cross over here and there, but this is more or less an overview so you know what to expect and why in my stories.
These are totally open to change based on new things I learn and choose to apply.

First about my writing style.
I write the way I was taught in school during the 1980's. There are many times that writing in the English language has slightly changed, and there were many shifts between then and now including the way teachers teach.

I use double spacing after periods in sentences and used to tab indent the start of every paragraph, because that's how we were told to write.
I've gotten a lot of comments about those two issues, and am working to learn modern writing rules, so if you've read this far, you now may understand why I write slightly differently, yet consistently the same way through the first fifty of my stories.

For a nice example, I edited a story and tabbed each sentence. I was quickly educated on typography and adapted my stories as such since.
Thanks to editors such as Rancor, Deltablaze22, and others, I've grown significantly as a writer and as a person online and in real life. Without a varied crew and team of assistants, where we all help each other, I'd be a terrible writer with great stories; if that makes sense.
I will continue to grow as a writer and author in the fandom and someday beyond as long as I breathe as long as I have awesome people to teach and help me.
I have no plans to stop at writing pony words, but my speed at writing varies depending on my depression and workload.

Next is my world of Equestria

The land is the same. The leadership is the same and the characters are the same, save for alternate universes or certain stories where it covers the private life in a canon setting.

Often times sexuality is irrelevant because the society is matriarch driven and mostly populated by females. As such I often have, and will expand upon, a herd type of family unit.

Marriage exists, but it's not the same as what we're expecting. Marriage is used to denote dedicated trust and life for life among ponies, but they're mostly still open to adding to their families for procreation or polyamory.

Sexuality in my stories

Pony related: Lesbianism, homosexuality, incest, etc. Are seen as just sex unless it's rape, then is a crime. Rape can be either gender or enchanting another to do things against their will, or any other sexual force of one upon an unwilling nother.
Charges can be up to a year in a quarry prison.

Sex isn't seen as bad at any age after six months, or when the foal is able to start talking and walking/flying. The sexual limits are no penetration but fondling and petting/masturbation are tolerated.

This is the age of consent and it has to be respected.

Violating the age of consent is treated as rape and charged ten times as bad because of the harm that can befall the foal.

On our earth equines are sexually fertile at about 2 years of age. I use that as a base in my stories and typically anypony under 3 is a foal and over 4 is a colt/filly.

From that any sex had under the age of four until they get their cutie mark, around age 5-6, is Foalcon.

Once they get their cutie mark they're adults in society and are treated as such. Jobs, children, moving away to start a new life, it's all their choice once they are cutie marked.

Size also plays a factor because of a pony is trying to have sex and it isn't a comfortable fit it can be seen as sexual assault, even between consenting parties and charges or fines can be levied.

Also, typically, when a pony goes missing from somewhere it's expected that they want to move on and are missed but life goes on without them.

This works well for traveling stories and murder as well, because if you're a certain age and go missing it's societally accepted.

Nudity and gonads are not seen as sexual and a stallion with a full erection may be embarrassing, but it's natural and rarely frowned upon.

A child ping knows what a fully erect penis is just as much as what a vulva is, even if they don't use standardized terminology.

Ponies also excrete waste near each other but there's some distance taken between genders because they smell arousal differently than we humans do.

An aroused mare can have sex at any time in the day or year but it's usually extra careful during spring and fall because they go into estrus.

Pregnancy is still 11 months. Dane sex genders can have children through specialized magic that only medical doctors are allowed to perform.

Abortion isn't even thought of since life is precious, but adoption, and death during delivery, still happens.

Orphans are treated as normal children that are raised socially like all local children, in addition to school.

Pony personalities
In a story of mine you'll notice each pony is unique and you can feel it I the way each sentence is written that relates.
I do this by taking myself and putting myself in the center of the event and actively listening to the conversations and mannerisms of each individual.

In my mind I just write what I see and there's no way two ponies are going to be the same. Not even twins. Time travel too, because things change day to day…

You aren't the same person today that you were yesterday if you're active and moving and ponies are always on the move. Taking, reading, gossiping, learning, growing and changing.

Ponies are each unique and in certain towns are all close as family. Foals and children are raised and watched over by all the locals and there are few secrets outside close family units.

Ponies know social norms, so when a pony has a hobby or passion that is outside the norm they can join a like minded group or experiment on their own, consequences apply.

There are no groups for murder, rape, or torture.

To each their own and they'll probably never cross paths.

Ponies are driven to do the right thing, even if what they see themselves as is wrong, they'll justify it.

But another pony doing the same thing can be a degenerate. It's flawed logic brought on by utopian, agrarian, misplaced beliefs.

Celestia knows little of the individual ponies she rules over, but knows of certain groups, fetishes, and places to engage in such acts.
She doesn't intervene because it's not a state level issue.
She may visit a site to experience carnal delights but maintains magical sterility and she's open to new experiences.

Luna is a hopeless romantic and will throw herself into relationships but is abstinent until she's found the truly right pony.
She does masturbate though, and is willing to perform and receive oral sex after a point in a long term relationship, but those are rare to occur, so she'll self pleasure in private.
I don't plan to have her in a sexual relationship but that can change in the future.

Technology is still mostly pre industrial.
Magic is the norm and not a surprise unless magical overload, burnouts, or attacks occur.
Bits are typically used one per large item or several small items for one.
Colors and race are as meaningless as they are on the show, but I may write something opposite of that for drama in a future story.
Toilets are squat toilets.
Baths are communal.
Showers are too.

Ponies don't see sex in the bath as really sexy and it rarely occurs.

I don't read or write or edit anthro.
I can't think of anything else, so that's what I have as far as my stories and world go.
