Yes indeed, I have a brand-new story on Fanfiction that crosses over Pokemon and Persona! It's co-created by myself and the greatest human alive, Kirito-Persona (who you should totally go and follow, BTW, he's pretty cool). Here's the description for those of you who are interested:
You are a student transferring from Indigo High School in the small town of Pallet to Lumiose High in the huge city of Lumiose for about a year. You hear warnings of disappearances around the city and you soon discover that you have have the power to control beings known as Personas and travel into a strange mirror world. Can you use this newfound power to save Lumiose from evil?

Ahem... Soo... This is a bit awkward, because it's so late... But I was very busy lately (translation: Persona 3, Fire Emblem Echoes and the Dragonmaid manga)...
Well, first: I wasn't counting rivals or main villains, as I was looking for potential party members (plus you have to admit, that depite being famous Red has less personality than a Persona protagonist). Also this number pales in comparison to the masses of female characters...
Now to the main topic (keep in mind, that I had all this ideas before I knew of your story):
– I also thought of using a mix between fifth and seventh gen. Seven because of its great characters and five because it had the Dreamworld feature , which I think would fit well with Persona
– Story-wise I had the idea that the Dreamworld would be represented by the White Forest, which was separated to the real world, but that barrier is gone and the dark dreams and desires are corrupting it and its inhabitants, indicated by the appearance of the Black Town
– mechanic-wise I would have taken the battle system of Persona, of course not with all 18 types, luckily the TCG exists, so I narrowed it down to Fire, Plant, Water, Electric, Fighting, Psychic, Dark and Fairy
–Characters: Kukui as caretaker was kinda given, especially if you consider his wife being the prof of the Dreamradar game, so she might have played a role, too. Of course I wanted to use Lillie, though I wasn't sure what her Persona would be... My idea was Alola Ninetails as her Persona, with Lunala being the evolved Persona, but I can't decide which type she should represent (Which compromise is more acceptable: Ninetails as Psychic or Lunala as Fairy). With Gladio I got into a similar problem. Also Zoroark for the protagonist, as it would fit his ability to have multiple Personas. I haven't decided on any others characters (as you might have guessed)
And this is everything I can think of right now. And if you might need help at any point I'd gladly help. I'll definitely follow your story, though you might have to remind to read updates (you could make it like some others on this site and post a short blog with every update). And phew, this might be my longest comment ever... Writing this took an hour... Wow
An interesting concept, and I must say that while I haven't played Persona I know enough about it.

Depends on the game you're looking at. In Persona 5 light and dark were normal damaging types and they just had additional insta kill moves. Also I think I'll pass on the Burnett reveal. I want to keep at least a few surprises.
