Something needs to be said. (SPOILERS INBOUND!) · 8:57pm May 8th, 2017
For the record, I've caved in and have been watching the episodes aired in Canada. I know, shame on me but after watching "Parental Glideance" I feel like I need to say some things.
I knew this was going to be a good episode but damn it hit deep in the feels. I'm not going to go on some depressing tale but I'll admit I never quite got the support from my parents like Dash did. Of course, my mom passed when I was ten so I can't fault her for that but my dad...well...I guess he never imagined the possibility of a child having a disability.
Speaking of which....Derpy. I've always loved her but now I feel the need to give her a hug. She used to be the top flyer when she was little (yes, even better than Dash) but apparently she came down with a physical disability that affected her eyes and...well you know the rest.
That part hit me hard. I'm well aware that this is a common thing in the world but I tell you, it's still tragic, especially since Derpy could've been where Dash is now. Always think about that folks. My hat goes off to the writers for this because in a way it's pretty bittersweet.
its not something the kids would notice, but its something small that makes the older fans think. that's why we all love the show so much. aimed for children, but made with enough to keep older audiences watching.
