Chapter V of PRAT published (for real this time) · 7:35pm May 6th, 2017
You may have noticed that Chapter V was published a few weeks ago but was very quickly after not anywhere to be seen. While editing it, I accidentally hit the publish button, when it was absolutely not ready for publication. But it’s up now. This is by far my favorite chapter in the story, and I hope it will be your favorite too. I know I took a long time to put it out, but it is longer than everything I’ve written so far combined so I hope that makes up for it.
I sincerely regret the long wait time between chapters, but I’m sorry to say that I think the wait time will be fairly indicative of how long it will take me to generate those many words. The reason being is that I have a full-time job now, one that I can see myself keeping for some time. It takes me an hour to get there, an hour to come back, and, as I’m one of those people who gets grumpy with anything less than ten hours of sleep, during the weekdays it’s pretty much wake up, eat, go to work, work, come back, an hour to myself to make food before passing out, repeat till the weekend. And then on the weekend, this story, my human novel, my friends whom I have no time to see any more, my piano playing, all compete for my time. It’s not all terrible, I’m making quite a bit of money, but it’s at a high cost. Nothing in life is free.
I have resolved to finish this story. There are six chapters left, on average about 3k words. Chapter VI is written but not edited. Chapter VII is almost done. I’ve finished about a third of Chapter VIII. I’ll probably be able to finish the novel within the year (but I’m hesitant to make promises).
