A theoretical new story · 10:52pm Apr 27th, 2017
Okay, so I've had an idea bouncing in my head for the last... oh say around five months for a story where Twilight has to deal with an unexpected complication brought on by becoming an alicorn. In this au setting, the alicorns are deities and as such each of them have a few things that fall into their personal portfolios. Luna having night, war, and dreams as part of hers along with a few other minor ones where she holds perhaps lesser influence as an example. Normally this is simple as Luna and Celestia came along as alicorns to start with and Cadence had always been interested in matters of love. Due to some actions in Twilight's youth Twilight became the champion of unfortunately clueless stallions on how to present themselves as worthy considerations to the fairer sex. Over the years before she left to Ponyville she went from champion to their patron in the minds of these poor fellows and there is more than one shrine to their lady of advice hidden about Canterlot. This sadly causes Twi's portfolio to not only cover magic and knowledge but also males, similarly to how Cadence's covers females. Now Twi is ignorant of this new little wrinkle in her life. On the other hand, Luna and Celestia, who have figured out Twi's entire domain are busy trying not to laugh themselves comatose.
So while Twilight takes her friends with her to Canterlot to deal with a few issues, not least of which is the amount of male voices she is hearing asking for help wooing their prospective lovers, the other princesses do all they can to keep Twilight ignorant of this for a laugh, Rarity is suspecting something as Twi's behavior begins to shift, Fluttershy is getting even more flustered around Twilight than usual, and Rainbow is about to have a meltdown for how much of a 'bro' Twi is being with the guards.
Anyone interested in this? It'd take probably three chapters just to get to the parts that are amusing so I've been holding off on it seeing it as a rather large project.
I love the idea. It sound like a lite-harded version of the trope: learn your new powers. That I really like. And I really like to know what twi did in her youth.
