Well this is bad. · 9:09am Sep 10th, 2022
If anyone has been wondering at my lack of activity, or even being on the internet much less here, the answer to that is quite unpleasant. I learned I had colon cancer about 3 or so months back. I've had the stuff cut out but due to how fast it was growing and their worries they couldn't wait for me to recover from a full surgery so now I've got a bag hanging from my stomach I have to empty for the next 6 months while I go through chemo. I've already been to the ER twice in as many weeks due to complications. I'm hoping after I survive this, and they all seem to think I will, I will be back to being active but right now just getting in a computer chair and typing is more of a chore than I feel like investing in. Sorry, hopefully I'll be around more next year. I'm only 41 keep in mind. I suggest people really start to get a colonoscopy around 40 due to my own experiences because I had no warnings about my own health's downturn.
OUCH AND A HALF. Really hoping things turn out for the best.
On account of Crohn's/colitis, I've needed to get colonoscopies almost every year since since I turned 21. Michigan, I needed two of them this year because the first one somehow didn't take. Plus side is that my doctors have been able to catch anything that could remotely be a problem. Minus side is the necessary prep for it, but to anyone who reads this: the plus far outweighs the minus.
Aye. I can expect a similar schedule once they get me put back together for at least the next decade to make sure the cancer doesn't come back.
