Heads-Up: Transcendence Going into M-Rated Territory. · 11:24pm Oct 2nd, 2012
All right, guys. I know that I haven't been updating Transcendence. But I've had to stop and ponder some stuff about what exactly's going to happen and how it's going to happen. Considering that this is supposed to be a surreal horror-type deal, I don't want to make this too boring for you (even though I might as well be a novice in the field).
One of the said things that I've wondered about is the content of the story.
Now, I don't intend to make this something over-the-top graphic. I'm trying to make this a story that's chilling to read and doesn't delve into more mature territory. However, after going over all possible thoughts, I don't think I can really avoid it. One of the scenes that I plan on introducing - and the only scene of its kin - doing involves a puddle of blood. That's it. Nothing more than that, I swear it. No organs poking out, no bones, nothing squick-inducing. Just a puddle of blood, just like a puddle of water. Now, while that doesn't sound too bad, the teen rating (as it was under the ESRB ratings) requires minimal blood, which would be mere cuts and scrapes. It creates a bit of complication within my thought process, as while the amount of blood in that one scene would technically warrant an M-rating, I personally don't find it revolting. It's just like having a puddle of water in the same position, right?
Of course, other people might think otherwise.
So! Tell me your thoughts. Should I up this to an M-rating just to be safe, or should I keep it T-rated and hope that it's not too bad?
Meh.
This, I think, really doesn't warrant the rating. If it's only one puddle of blood (as "a" implies), then that sounds pretty "minimal" to me.
I think it's fine as is, but if you are really worried about it, you can talk to the staff about it, I'm sure. I personally would up it, but then I'm always overly cautious. I will say I don't have mature enabled at all times though, so if you do go that route I'm not sure if I would get the updates...
but yeah, as far as site safe, I'd talk to the staff. As far as what I think you should do, just leave it.
