    Stream Thursday

I'm going to pick up where I left off yesterday on Thursday. I was originally going to continue tonight, but something came up that I had to address. Namely complications with my post-surgery care. My apologies if you were looking forward to my stream tonight. I'm still streaming "The Last Day of June" tomorrow as planned, as well.

    Hiatus Update

I'm sorry it's been so long since I gave y'all an update on my hiatus. Getting my life back in order hasn't been easy going or quick. As we speak, I'm on break at work. The job I have has me doing 12 hour work shifts constantly, five to six days a week. It's killing my debt fast.

    Quick update

This is going to be real brief. I'm through about half the items (that I had back in January) I wanted to get through before coming back. After what has happened now, though, I'm fairly certain I will be guided away from Fimfiction and through all these trials I face until July.

Q/A Blog #1 · 9:02pm Mar 31st, 2017

Ah, it has come to be that time of the week now. I feel that it is quaint to sip a cup of tea and turn up some nice Beethoven whilst we hold this Q/A session. I quite fancy listening to classical music for these kinds of relaxing events.

I have before me a number of pre-generated questions as well as a question or two from you all! Isn’t this so exciting?! :pinkiehappy:

“Wheeee!!!”

Whoa there, how’d you get here, Pinkie Pie?

“Silly, I got here by launching myself super duper all the way to the tippity top with my awesomely spectacular party cannon! As soon as I heard about one of my super duper wacky party friends, how could I resist, am I right?”

I don’t believe that it is appropriate for me to allow this to . . .

”Oh, there’s no need to worry about those kinds of details. Chill, I got this. Tehe, see what I did there?”

I understand, but I don’t think . . .

“It’s party time!”

Looks like I won’t be able to squirm myself out of this one guys. Forgive me in advance.

Anyway, it looks like the first question I have for the day comes from Bronycommander:

The Chill Dude, What are your favorite characters from the show?

“Ooh, ooh, me, me!”

Yes Pinkie?

“Pfft, it’s me, silly. I’m your most favoritest favorite pink party pony!”

That’s right. Pinkie Pie is my favorite character from the show, and while I do have other favorites, which I’ll be getting to in a moment, the reason for me liking Pinkie Pie the most is pretty simple. Out of all the characters on the show, I relate with her the most.

In real life, I’ve been told that I’m a bit eccentric. And random, very random. While I don’t have the fascination for throwing parties like Pinkie Pie does, I do quite enjoy myself going to them from time to time. I also share a likeness to her enthusiasm for meeting people and making new friends. In fact, I might go out on a limb and say that a lot of her qualities resemble the way I view myself. Some of you may have already noticed that I tend to go out of my way to converse with people in responses that didn’t necessarily need a verbal response. I feed off that personal attachment.

Her knack for knowing everything about all of her friends might be substituted for my endeavors for learning all I can about writing, about engineering, about the connection with my inner soul. Part of my hunger to know about the world and about myself was drilled into me from an early age in the form of mathematical theory and essays.

“Yepparooni. Oo, oo! Tell them about that thing you really, really, posilutely love-and-adore-but-don’t-want-to-tell-because-it’s-really-weird-but-not-too-weird-and-,” Pinkie gasps before continuing, “the-world-really-really-needs-to-know-about-your-deepest-darkest-secret?”

You lost me, Pinkie.

“Your special somepony, silly!”

Oh, that! Not too far into my relationship with my fiance’, we got our first plush, after watching part of the first season of My Little Pony. It turned out to be . . . a Pinkie Pie plushie.

“And . . .?”

Do I have to?

“Who’s Q and A is this?”

Fine, it was one of our gifts for proposing, and seeing as how we were two guys just getting into the show, it was a special gift to us from a friend.

Yes, I am a brony and gay.

“No need to be sad or gloom about it, there’s posilutely nothing wrong with that, my young Padawan. Tehe, I don't know what that means, but it sure is fun to use your favorite catchphrases.”

Riiight… Seeing as how this blog has already gotten wildly out of wing already, I’m moving onto the next logical favorite.

Discord. Pretty much the reason for liking him is very similar to my reason for liking Pinkie Pie. I'm silly and wacky, and I love a bit of chaos from time to time.

“Hey, I can totally do chaos too. Have you seen my clones? Speaking of which…”

Oh no…

“Hi!” “Howdy” “What's up?”

Wait, I didn’t mean to say that you can’t be chaotic too it's just… Discord is the God of Chaos. Please, no more copies!

“But aren’t you practically a super duper party pony like me? How could you not want to hang out with all the other super party ponies?”

I can only handle so much party.

“Aww, you’re no fun.”

Anyways, the shenanigans he pulls in the show are right up my alley. It’s like what I do when I postulate crazy scenarios with my friends in real life. I will take one itsy, bitty, little thing, and then I will blow it up to the most ludicrous scenario I can conjure up. It’s insane, and I love it.

There are other characters that I really like as well; Rainbow Dash for her outwardly tough nature, yet soft and tender emotions on the inside, the CMC for their aspiration for growth, and the list goes on. Those are the few notables, however.

Next Question.

“I want to ask a question! I want to ask a question!”

I’m afraid to ask, but what is your question Pinkie Pie?

“If you’re such a smarty smarterson like Twily is, what with that Engineering degree of yours, then how did you get into writing? I mean, aren’t all engineers like Cranky Doodle? Not that there’s anything wrong with him, he totally is like the kindest nice-y-est nice donkey that I know of. It’s just I met this one engineer one time and…”

I get it, Pinkie, really I do… To some people, engineers can seem to be married to their job, constantly thinking about it, what they can do to improve upon some design or thinking about some parameters that take on a whole new light when they think about it in a different way. Their work, as a result, can bleed into other aspects of their life.

I understand not all engineers are like this, but at least for some, it’s hard to flip that switch off. It’s like fitting that last jigsaw piece into place without actually knowing whether or not that is indeed the last piece. Always there is something about that design that will gnaw at our brains until we finally sort it out, and by then there’s another conundrum for us to sort out. Such is the way of life, I suppose.

But I digress, if I am so keen on being an engineer, as I have always wanted to do since seeing my dad be one himself growing up, then how did I come to take on such an interest in writing? The two flavors in life seem to hardly blend together. In fact, as a student among the other engineering students at my university, we used to have a back and forth with the English majors at the other end of the campus for one thing or another. Usually, it was over how funds were allocated to the different divisions of study. Somehow, they always got way more than us engineering students. :ajbemused:

I’ve heard several stories on how people got into writing, and while they each have their differences, most of them seem to have the commonality of enjoying the activity of reading from an early age.

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about me. I did have books read to me sometimes, and I did go to the library with my mother as a kid, but I wasn’t really all that into books. I was more into gaming.

So what changed?

This has got to be one of the most unique ways I’ve heard anybody get into writing, and I can only paraphrase it into the most corny saying imaginable in this scenario. I had a dream. No, literally. I had a dream, and then I wrote it down and gave it to my friend as a joke.

I was like, “Hey, look at this awesome story you and I are in? It’s about monsters and we are super heroes and we fight in it and it’s awesome.” It was the absolute worst garbage anyone could possibly write, but I didn’t care at the time. I’ve shown it to somebody already in this community, but here’s a little snippet to show you how bad I wrote back then, just to give you an idea of how far I’ve come as a writer.

Tom stared at Cam. I went for the black-suited guy. He took out some sort of grenade launcher and poised it on me. The grenade launched onto me and exploded. I fell down to the ground motionless with blood seeping out of my skin. Tom started punching the guy furiously. Tom yelled, "don't you EVER hurt my friends!" The guy said, "It hurt?" Tom yelled, "it hurt you!" Tom punched his head in. The guy said, "your a worthy opponent. my name's Alexander The great" Alexander "The Great" kicked Tom, but Tom blocked with both of his arms.

Zack got up. Then HyruleCastlePunkRockRemix started playing. This dude came up to Zack and said, "nice to meet you again torch. remember me?" Zack said, "Freeze..." He replied, "right torch, you know what I'm going to do to you now?" Zack said, "nothing that concerns me" and Zack punched him. Freeze got up and shot icicles at Zack. Zack dodged and then he flared up and blasted a ball of fire at him. Mean while, Matt was walking back to that old lady. Matt said, "what about me? can you do me?" The old woman said, "I am afraid my time on this earth is up. Keep a bright attitude toward the world and you will never lose."

With all the names of people thrown in there, and all the action that is so fast paced that it literally bleeds into the text, and the completely out of place THEME music that was interjected into the prose for no reason, it’d be a wonder if any of you actually understood what was happening here.

I have to give myself some leniency on this. I believe I wrote this fourteen years ago, putting me around twelve at the time. My file says it was made in 2007, but I know for a fact that I wrote it way before then so I’m not exactly sure how far back it is. Possibly late 2003.

On a related note, I have revised that story about three times now. In fact, it’s the reason why I got back into writing fanfiction, as I use that as my building block to try to get better at writing. When I finally publish the latest revision of this book, which I’ve been told is really good by both my peers and completely random people, I want it to be the best possible book I can make it. And so it has been rewritten several times over the years as I progressed as a writer and learned new techniques or new ways of portraying what I want to portray.

In a couple of more months, after I’ve learned a bit more about writing, I’ll take another stab at it. I’d like to make at least one story on here to reach the feature box first, however. A kind of show, really, to tell me that hey, you’re ready for this. You can do it, The Chill Dude.

Over the years, my friends who have read my book have been very supportive of me. At first, my story was absolutely uninteresting and had no taste to it. Only the first chapter was written from a dream, but for a while I kept on the facade that every chapter was from a dream, and that I kept on having them every day. It became a ritual; I’d spit out a chapter in about an hour after school and then hand it to my best friend the next day.

The ritual continued on until slowly, but surely, I started to get better at writing. At first, he read it out of interest because the story was about him and about me, and since we were sitting on a bus bound for school with nothing better to do, he read it, errors and all. But when my storytelling started getting better, when I started adding depth to it and began patching up my grotesque spelling and grammar issues, a genuine interest had been lit in his soul.

Right around that time, I couldn’t keep up my daily routine of writing a chapter a day anymore. I slowed it down gradually to once every two or three days, and then finally a week. Guys, without hardly reading a day in my life, I had discovered the essence of cliff hangers. He’d get that three to four thousand word chapter each week, only to find out at the end of the chapter that something happens that left him at the edge of his seat and wonder what will happen next. Then, we’d talk about what happened, where the narrative could end up turning if one character did this or that, for the rest of the day, most of the time at the expense of our learning. He’d also talk about how he yearned about the release of the next chapter.

The whole experience of how I got started in writing was intimate, and I cherished it through and through. It was the most gratifying feeling I’d have had up to this moment of my life. These were the most informative years of my life, and it has shaped the way I tell stories to this day.

So if I give you that amazing cliffhanger in one of my stories that make you go, “NO!! MOAR!!” You can thank my bestest best friend in the whole wide world, one of whom I’m saddened by not being in as close of touch with him as I’d been in the past.

A tidbit of extraneous information on this part. The original copy of my story reached around… 500,000 words. To this day, that remains the source of a large percentage of everything I’ve written in my life, which makes sense, in all honesty.

Nowadays, I read much more, and with everything that I read, I’m picking up one new attribute that I can use in this story or that.

“Wow! So your best-y bestest friend in the whole wide world was the one who helped shape you into the awesomely spectacular pony you are today? That’s amazing! You absolutely must rekindle your friendship with him! Think of the fans! You want to see them weep tears of joy, don’t you? Tears. Of. Joy!”

Well, we still hang out from time to time. Why, behind the scenes he read my latest story, A Series of Chaotic Events, before it was even turned into a proofreader for editing.

That wraps the questions we generated from the Questionnaire and from my pre-generated list. I’ll be waiting in hoof for any upcoming questions you have. With that, let’s get this Q/A started! :pinkiehappy:

What are your other favorite characters apart from Pinkie Pie?

4478749

It was in the Blog, Discord, Rainbow Dash, the CMC. Those were my favorite mentionable characters.. :rainbowlaugh:

4478753 Must overlooked that. For me, the CMC and any foal of the show are my favorite characters. I like the mane 6 equally but AppleJack was the pony who brought me into the show

What's your favorite video games to play? (You should try out Twisted Metal. Fun as hell)

4478757

Yeah, each of my favorites are ones that I am connected with on a very personal level.

Pinkie Pie: My random side. :derpytongue2:

Discord: My tendency to deviate from the rules. :moustache:

CMC: My yearning to grow and learn about new things, like the singing today.

Rainbow Dash: I keep a sensitive side of myself hidden under a strong exterior.

4478761 I see, suits you perfectly!

4478760

My favorite video games.. Hmm.. That has changed a lot over the years.

The ones I play the most are currently:

Heroes of the Storm
Doom

It's really hard for me to pick a favorite there, but my favorite genre is the RPG like Final Fantasy or Legend of Dragoon.

My favorite gaming company as of late has got to be either Bethesda or Telltale Games. I extremely enjoyed Tales From the Borderlands, Wolf Among Us, and Walking Dead.

4478762

You can tell a lot about a person's personality by seeing what their favorite characters from My Little Pony are, huh? Like Apple Jack for instance, I might guess that you're loyal and trustworthy friend who cherishes his compatriots.

4478768 I'm a country guy like her, not afraid getting dirty if work requires it, that's why she got me into the show.

4478764 I prefer Need for Speed, Grand Theft Auto, Forza Motorsport, and Fallout 4

Rockstar and Bethesda do very well with their games

4478772

Ah. Good thing I posited that as a guess rather than tabulating it as fact, then. :rainbowlaugh:

4478775

Yeah, they do. There's just too many games to pick one favorite for me though. I'd pick two dozen if it was allowed. :derpytongue2:

4478776 Nopony is perfect, even the princesses.

4478780

Yes, indeededly. :pinkiehappy:

Seeing as how this has quieted down, I'll go ahead and leave for the time being, as I do have a friend over for the night to hang out with as well. I will, however, be poking my head in every now and then tonight and answer any additional questions that make their way into this comment section. :pinkiehappy:

One thing engineering and writing have is that the submitted product has gone through so much revision and yet the person working on the work very well may find ways to revise it after it's been submitted, even though the work seems perfectly finished to anyone else.
Both require a lot of perseverance and inventiveness, besides technical knowledge.

That was quite nice to read. It really does help to have friends who are interested in what you're doing if you're looking to cultivate that interest.

I know some people have beat me to certain questions I had in mind.
Similar to the favorite video game question, what is one video game you'd say people should play before they die?

What Beethoven tracks are you listening to?

Mentioning Pinkie, are there any sweets you're particularly fond of?

What celebrities would you like to meet in the flesh?

Is there something you've wanted to get into but never found the time for?

What role(s) would you say MLP and the fandom have played in you life?

Thoughts on Zecora? i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq260/spacewings/EmZecora_zpscd7ac24a.png

Where is there sweet music that softer falls than petals blown from roses on the grass?

What is love? You're getting married soon, so I figured you'd know. :derpytongue2:

Do you hail Sithis?

Any musical theater pieces you like?

What's something that you like that is not very commonly liked? Food, music, field of study, doesn't matter to me.

Any unpopular opinions you'd care to share about anything (similar to the last, but I think the last one lends itself more to the things I mentioned, whereas this question is more general)?

Any advice to incoming or current college students you'd care to share?

What is the perfect way to spend a weekend?

What weather do you like?

Places you'd like to visit?

What is life? Is it nothing more than an endless search for a Cutie Mark? And what is a Cutie Mark but a constant reminder that we're all one Bugbear attack away from oblivion? And what of the poor gator, flank forever blank, destined to an existential swim down the river of life to an unknowable destiny?

What did you record your singing video with? :rainbowwild:

4478839

That is true; I did not think of that. Although, with engineering once a piece of equipment is set in place, it must stay there until new regulations are established or the equipment has a failure, or sometimes in rare cases the systems are upgraded to newer technology before it there is a cascaded failure. As far as drawings go, once it's right, there will be no revisions until the equipment is changed. If the technicians are too busy, then you could end up seeing there being no revision done to the drawing. I had to deal with that in my last project, and it was incredibly annoying to have to track down the most up to date information while having to deal with out of date info. :ajbemused:

What Beethoven tracks are you listening to?

I was listening to various ones until I went out to eat dinner with my friend. I love all of his work.

Mentioning Pinkie, are there any sweets you're particularly fond of?

I like Snickers bars, payday bars, Laffy Taffies, cakes, pies, brownies, cookies...Etc. Tehe
I love sweets! :pinkiehappy:

What celebrities would you like to meet in the flesh?

As long as YouTube celebs count, I'd love to meet Markiplier. Otherwise, I don't mind meeting any.

Is there something you've wanted to get into but never found the time for?

I don't know... Every thing that I want to try I have tried before with the exception of a cruise, which I'm going on one for my honeymoon later this year.

I will answer the rest of your questions in a bit. Got some Mexican food, chimichangas, to devour.

Edit: I forgot to make my second reply a reply, so I deleted my original and reposted it (copy and paste, so answers are exactly as they were before.)

What role(s) would you say MLP and the fandom have played in you life?

I can't place exactly the role it has played, but it did help me connect with my fiance's friends, and it has helped me to take a step back and try to open myself up to people again, especially in this fashion. Oh my, I guess that does answer your question.

Thoughts on Zecora?

I'd prefer a nice stew from Zecora,
Sooner than I'd go on a journey with Dora,
That explorer who shouts swiper no swiping,
Hope this answers your question and there's no griping.

Where is there sweet music that softer falls than petals blown from roses on the grass?

A Beetles album.

What is love? You're getting married soon, so I figured you'd know.

That person you'd prefer to live without, but find that you can't. That person you think of every day when you're supposed to be focusing on other tasks. Something to that effect.

Do you hail Sithis?

Yes. But only for the free loot and achievements. I am an achievement glutton.

Any musical theater pieces you like?

Depends on whether you mean live theatrical pieces with music in them or musicals.

As for musicals, I love Dr. Horrible, Repo man, Les Miserables...There are more which I can't recall the name of.

Any advice to incoming or current college students you'd care to share?

Get an internship or coop at some point before graduation. I did not and it was hard for me to get a job initially afterwards. Thankfully someone gave me a shot finally.

I'll answer more of your questions, but first I got to get back home. :rainbowlaugh:

4478903
I'm not exactly sure I understood all of that, but then again, I'm no engineer. :twilightsheepish: I'm an actuary.

Nice. I take that that was a good time, then? I've barely scratched the surface of Beethoven's works, I feel. I'd say in my music library I have only about 10 to 20 tracks by him.

Me, too. I have a voracious sweet tooth.

YouTube celebrities definitely count. Markiplier. I've seen very little of him, and mostly not even him in his own videos. His voice is godly.

Ooh! I've only once been on a boat out on the ocean before, and even then it wasn't very far from shore. That sounds awesome, and I've always wondered about what those cruises were really like.

Sounds good! I'll probably be going out for a pastrami sandwich in about an hour or so.

4478839

I know some people have beat me to certain questions I had in mind.
Similar to the favorite video game question, what is one video game you'd say people should play before they die?

That is really hard to answer, because of people's different tastes in games! How about I answer it by genre instead?

One Horror game one must play before they die!

Five Nights At Freddy's series. That is a master piece.

One Action-RPG game one must play before they die!

Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening

One Dungeon Crawler RPG game one must play before they die!

Legend of Grimrock 1 & 2

One Classic RPG game one must play before they die!

Final Fantasy 7

One FPS game one must play before they die!

Destiny 2. This game looks like what Destiny should have been.

One Sandbox game one must play before they die!

Subnautica

One Racing game one must play before they die!

Forza 6

One Puzzle game one must play before they die!

Portal & Portal 2.

Let me know if you want more genres! I can go on due to my incredibly large library. (I have over 500 games) :pinkiecrazy:

What's something that you like that is not very commonly liked? Food, music, field of study, doesn't matter to me.

I'm not sure that's appropriate. Haha, just kidding. :rainbowlaugh:
Underwater Basket-weaving. Oops, that's another joke my and the engineers used to have jokes about. It was a made up field of study.

Truthfully, I have no clue. I'm pretty average in things I like, I think.

Any unpopular opinions you'd care to share about anything (similar to the last, but I think the last one lends itself more to the things I mentioned, whereas this question is more general)?

According to rotten tomato, I shouldn't like the new Netflix original series 'The Iron Fist', but it's personally one of my favorite Netflix originals of all time. The character development and the plot are phenomenal, and I don't know how people can make the judgement that it's bad based upon it's 'dry' choreographed fighting. The action isn't what makes a series of movie good, folks. It's the driving force of the plot.

And I have another thing for those who don't like the series. I believe the fighting styles I saw were pretty accurate. For example, the iron fist used the crane style (the white crane variant, if I'm not mistaken?) in an enclosed area, which is where the crane style is the best suited kung-fu style for close quarters (also if I'm not mistaken, I'm no expert on kung-fu).

What weather do you like?

I like rainy weather the best. The sound of the dripping droplets of rain soothe my mind, much as listening to classical music does.

What is the perfect way to spend a weekend?

Depends on the personality of the person spending it. I personally like playing games or writing. Or doing any of the things that I love doing, really. Also spending time with family is pretty good to me.

Places you'd like to visit?

Japan, Great Britain, and India are all places I'd like to go see. I have a friend in India that I talk to on a regular basis, and chartering a plan there is surprisingly cheap. :moustache:

What is life?

Life is but an indeterminate path of unknown origin laid out before us. It leads us through a blank canvas of infinite dimension, and as we age, we try to paint our story on it. It comes not all at once, but in pieces, jumbled with no discernable connecting lines to give it a clear semblance. The painting is always there, available for us and others around us to access, but never the whole picture. I hope that was a philosophically stimulating answer for you.

What did you record your singing video with?

Camtasia Studio. I don't recommend it, it is a memory hog. Several edits had to be scrapped because it would have random blips of memory leaks. :pinkiecrazy:

4478948
Forgot to say:
This fandom has been a good gateway to friendship for me, as well. It's one of the principal reasons I became so interested.

4478956

Yeah, Engineers and Technicians don't always get along. :ajbemused:

But it's understandable. Engineers want to have all the parameters so that they can make the correct assessment on what should be set in place, while the technicians must put up with the stress of maintaining the equipment. They don't usually have time to updating the drawings, so there's a whole another department dedicated to doing nothing but upkeep on the drawings, but then the technicians still would have to get those drawings up to them, and then explain what's happening. The whole thing sounds like a Ignore bureaucratic nightmare.

Markiplier is definitely worth seeing, at least a little bit. If nothing else, check out his Try Not To Laugh series. It's hilarious. He really is a nice guy, and he has a HUGE amount of dedication to his art, to his fans. He loves everybody, just like me. And he and I share the same first name. Funny how that works. We're always on the Mark, I guess. :pinkiecrazy:

4478988

Precisely. I wish I had found this community sooner. Like, 2012 time period. :rainbowlaugh:

4478979
Wow, that is quite a library. How about a sidescroller?

Underwater basket weaving, eh? Can't say I've heard of the activity in any context. :twilightsheepish:

I have no idea what you're talking about with that, I'm afraid. I don't use Netflix at all and have never heard of that series. :facehoof: I'll go hide in shame over there.

You would've loved it here today. It has been steadily raining since sunrise. I personally like the rain when it's warm. I like thunder, and the sound of a hard rain alone can put me to sleep. The dull gusting of wind on stormy nights actually soothes me, too.

So, you'd like to write a video game with your family? :trollestia:

Nice! Sounds like you have your sights set on going to those places, then.

:pinkiecrazy: Prrrfect.

Ew, that's the worst. Some of my audio recordings have that, where half a word will be totally left out from the recording. So frustrating.

4478995
Sounds like a similar situation between accountants and financial managers. Different goals but working with the same resources and documents. Add in sales and market people in a firm, and you get a mess that will try to make you money even when you're not doing anything and spend it so you can get more by building up your rapport.

Considered, and yes, it has been my general understanding that Markiplier is very well liked for being an all-around good person as well as having an interesting personality.

:raritywink: Same, although things may have transpired for me quite differently if that were the case.

4479018

Wow, that is quite a library. How about a sidescroller?

Probably Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight or Angry Video Game Nerd The Video Game are good ones to do. Oh wait, no. I got a better one for you, and this one I don't even have yet, but I know it's REALLY good.

Owlboy.

Underwater basket weaving, eh? Can't say I've heard of the activity in any context.

That's the point. Underwater Basket-weaving doesn't exist, at least to my knowledge. It was a joke to make fun of the all the majors that didn't really make much of a living after they got out because of how flooded the market is with all of those degrees.

I have no idea what you're talking about with that, I'm afraid. I don't use Netflix at all and have never heard of that series. I'll go hide in shame over there.

Aw, don't feel shame. However, you wouldn't be disappointed with its entertainment value. It truly is remarkable.

The dull gusting of wind on stormy nights actually soothes me, too.

Me too!

So, you'd like to write a video game with your family?

I don't have any experience writing video games, and my parents would have an even harder time writing them. I have managed to do a bit of programming to create a functionally game that would have been considered pre pre-Alpha stage mechanically speaking, but I never put any graphics into it, nor did I take it any further than the most basic of mechanics.

Guess it goes to show you that just because you can read books or play games, you won't necessarily know how to write/make them. :pinkiecrazy:

That being said, if I did ever actually get into it, I could probably make something that people would find interesting. I'd definitely want to do something RPG related or puzzle based. Puzzle games can be pretty interesting.

Ew, that's the worst. Some of my audio recordings have that, where half a word will be totally left out from the recording. So frustrating.

I can, however, recommend it for it's amazing ability to edit it. It's got amazing capabilities for editing purposes. The best part is how all the tracks will snap into place easily; I could easily get my audio and video recording to line up properly with the instrumental sound track.

Considered, and yes, it has been my general understanding that Markiplier is very well liked for being an all-around good person as well as having an interesting personality.

He makes the most of each day, and he is incredibly saddened when he sees people mistreating each other. He embodies all the traits and qualities that you find in MLP.

Prrrfect.

Haha, am I a natural at being philosophical?

Well, I'm completly late. And by five hours. I guess that's what happens when I do everything off schedule. :derpytongue2: Anyways, onto the questions.

Any other favorite TV shows?

Uh... I'm out of questions. Feel free to answer as many as you like. And again, sorry for coming so late. :twilightsheepish: Cya later, Chill! :yay:

I know I'm late to the party but I have one question to throw at you. I blame a thousand last minute questions at work.

Which background character would you like to see play a bigger role in the show?

4479105

What was the first video game you ever played?

You know, the first 'video game' I ever played wasn't even a game. It was Microsoft Sam, turned out to be visual DOS program meant emails and organization, dressed up in artsy crafts and the like. But at my young age of six, I didn't know any better, and I thought the bright yellow dog that was the original icon. He had several cute animations that I simply couldn't resist.

My actual first video game was Jazz JackRabbit, also a DOS game, and a really good one at that. If you don't know what it is, think of an original sonic game with guns.

What's your favorite video game series?

Elder Scrolls is a classic favorite video game series of mine, although if I ever get the chance to try out the King's Bounty series, I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy that series immensely due its Medieval theme. From what I've seen of it so far, the story is really good.

Who's the best princess in your opinion?

Princess of Love.

Who's your favorite youtuber?

Me! No, just kidding. Markiplier.

Favorite cookie?

Either raisin or oatmeal.

Favorite flavor of potatoe chips?

Tehe, 'potatoe'. Funnily enough, that's how I pronounced that word. Gave too much emphasis on the last sounding syllable of the word, and I was teased about it. My favorite is probably either barbeque or salted.

Favorite genre of music?

I don't have one favorite genre of music. I like country, classic rock, techno, hip hop, classical, and jazz. I really dig a good jazzy groove. :coolphoto:

Favorite time of day?

There's such a thing? I guess the morning, because that's when I get up, and it's a new day to look forward to.

Favorite animal?

Animal.

I mean, probably cats or dogs. Although bearded dragons are really cool too!

What's your favorite thing about your fiancé?

Everything about him. I can't pin point one thing about him that I like more than anything else. Although I can say he likes it when I tack on and -y poo at the end of his name. :rainbowlaugh:

Coffee or tea?

Decaf. :derpytongue2:

I like both.

Favorite movie(s)?

My favorite most recently released movies are Moana and the new Power Rangers movie. That Power Rangers movie is crazy good. Amazing characters with deep and well thought out flaws, quirks that make them funny and easy to connect with, and then there's the plot. They have the classical training to get better scene and all that was real popular in the time period of the original series. The most annoying character they had in the series was thankfully not made nearly annoying in the movie (not at all, actually).

What got you into MLP: FiM?

The friend that gave us the Pinkie plush toy. She said we simply had to try it out. I tried out one episode, was like. It's alright. And then didn't watch it again until a year later. When I finally realized what it was about, I was like: "How could I miss out on this?" :pinkiegasp:

Any other favorite TV shows?

'Breaking Bad' will always be my number one favorite. I don't think that will ever change. 'The Iron Fist' is a personal favorite among the recently release, however.

Device you use most for gaming?

the PC. I have a Steam collection of about 500 games. Sometimes it's really hard for me to choose what to play when I'm in the mood for a game. :pinkiecrazy:

Currently I'm playing through Toki Tori, which looks like a cute little game. I have its sequel as well, but I haven't opened it up.

4479113

I don't know if you'd classify this character as a minor character or not, but I'd really like to see more of Diamond Tiara. I just don't think there is enough of her. Seeing more of her interactions with the CMC, especially now that she has been redeemed as one of the good ponies, I think there are some interesting scenarios they could do with the development of their relationship. There are a number of good fanfictions on here that cover this topic already. :pinkiehappy:

 Thank you.

:rainbowhuh: What degrees exactly would you refer to as such? I've really not paid much attention to much outside mathematics.

What kind of show is it, exactly?

I was joking with the question, but I'm glad you answered that. It's rather remarkable to me that you actually were able to go that far, though. I couldn't tell you a lick about programming games. :rainbowderp:
Yes, puzzle games are pretty interesting, although I'm terrible at them. The puzzle temples were baneful to me in Final Fantasy X.

I forgot to mention, I was actually meaning to ask what hardware you were recording with, as opposed to the program, although that is good to know, too.

He makes the most of each day, and he is incredibly saddened when he sees people mistreating each other. He embodies all the traits and qualities that you find in MLP.

When you say it like that, I guess he does! :rainbowderp:

Don't know. Depends on how long it took you to think of that, although you had to ponder it for too long. You're a smart cookie.

4479855

What degrees exactly would you refer to as such? I've really not paid much attention to much outside mathematics.

I'd rather not get into it specifically, so as to stay somewhat politically ambiguous. My personal feelings on the matter weren't nearly as strong as my peers in the first place; like you, I personally didn't pay much attention out of my degree, and so much of what I heard with those regards was hearsay or third party opinions.

What kind of show is it, exactly?

The Iron Fist is a heroic tale about someone whose destiny is to protect the people who raised him after his parents died in a plane crash, but on a deeper level, it is about him reconnecting with the society he had long since forgotten about since being raised by monks in a monastery after being in that same plane crash.

I was joking with the question, but I'm glad you answered that. It's rather remarkable to me that you actually were able to go that far, though. I couldn't tell you a lick about programming games.

It was required that I minor in programming as part of my career path. A lot of careers require some level of programming nowadays, so it's a useful tool to have. If it was really required of me, I could build a simple OS. It would take time me a considerable amount of time, but I know the basics of how it's done.

I forgot to mention, I was actually meaning to ask what hardware you were recording with, as opposed to the program, although that is good to know, too.

I had a blue snowball mic with a pop filter attachment for audio recording and a Logitech webcam (I forget the model #) to record my face.

Don't know. Depends on how long it took you to think of that, although you had to ponder it for too long. You're a smart cookie.

Honestly, it took me five seconds to come up with that. :pinkiecrazy:

4479997
Understood.

That does sound like an interesting premise. One could do a lot with that.

:rainbowderp: Impressive!

Nice. The equipment's working for you. :ajsmug:

:pinkiehappy: NOICE! You're an artist of thought.

4480063

Nice. The equipment's working for you.

I had $30 lighting equipment I could have set up as well, but I think that would have been overkill for what I was doing there. The equipment really looks professional though. Like, legit. If it becomes a regular thing of me singing or whatever, I think I'd go for a more high end mic, but what I have works for me for the time being.

NOICE! You're an artist of thought.

What is a thought, but a point of origin? Should it take on mass, what would it look like? Could it sprout wings and fly away like a butterfly, so high that one could not cage it. Or is it a period, forever placed in the inescapable torment of punctuating one's principals, desires, and understanding. I find that both are equally acceptable interpretations of a thought.

4480075
Wow. You really do seem like a real artist. You're better equipped to be than I am, at the very least. :twilightsheepish:

:rainbowkiss:

4480090

I'm so using that for my philosophical one shot.

The Ponyquinn shall be the thought. Or rather, the byproduct of a thought.

It really sounds like I am equipped to make a thoroughly intriguing one-shot that could delight you.

4480100
Yes. sollace.github.io/emoticons/default/rainbowexcited.png Don't know when I'd get around to it, but yes!

I have to go. I have work I've been putting off for about two hours. :twilightsheepish:
