Do you like the look of stainless steel countertops? They just make my heart sing, but I Had never considered attempting to get the look without professional help. Check out these homeowners cut the price by leaps and bound and did it themselves.
The kitchen needed some updating and is only 90 square feet.
After speaking with a local a local metal store, they were able to take the cost down to $20 per square foot (which was far much better than the big box retail quote of $150/sqft). The key was creating a template of their old countertops. Once that was done, the custom cut piece was delivered and they glued it in place. The look is excellent. Use it on an island, a homework space, the full length of counters, regardless of what, this is hands down the least expensive choice we have seen!
They adored the appearance of stainless steel counters and in a place this small it functions well to add a small glitz to the area. The downfall is the fact that ordering countertops with this style from a retail establishment doesn't come cheap. Seeming to keep down the cost, they checked into processes that were more affordable.
