MAU Backstories: Onyx Cobalt

This is the story of Onyx Cobalt, crimelord of Tartarus' Kitchen.

Onyx was raised in the slum apartments of Griffinstone by her abusive mother and neglectful father. The only one she cared about was her younger brother, Eon. At the age of 15, she killed her mother in a fit of rage when she whipped Eon one too many. After that, their father disowned them, leaving the siblings own their own. As Onyx grew up, she rose from the ranks of the crime world, with her cunning tactics one step ahead of her foes and her brute strength and size intimidating them. Her brother Eon, while not getting his claws dirty, was the brains behind the scenes.

Years later, Onyx managed to track her father, and rather than kill him, she and Eon had Azure, lieutenant of the rival crime empire, the Scorpions, carry out the executions for dodging "late fees" and stealing money from them. Azure and his boss wasted no time unloading their bullets into the perpetrator. After the deed was done, the siblings went their separate ways, Eon going to parts unknown and Onyx setting her sights to Neigh York. The aftermath of the Battle of Manehatten proved to be a major step towards Onyx's plans. Money began pouring into Neigh York City to help the rebuilding effort.

Onyx Cobalt saw this as an opportunity to take charge of the reconstruction in order to make Tartarus' Kitchen into a better place. She formed an alliance with various criminals, who needed a place to hide their assets. Murkoff Construction was formed to oversee the reconstruction of Tartarus' Kitchen following the damage caused during the Incident. The company also acted as the façade for the illicit activities and money laundering operations.
