Idea for a story based on a tabletob miniatures game (Dystopian Legions) · 11:40pm Feb 21st, 2017

Just an idea that has been floating around in my head for a little while. It's not really developed, and the story has yet to form in my mind, but, considering that I was fortunate enough to get three non-starter packs for the game Dystopian Legions for Christmas, along with a starter pack on the way (which contains the actual rule book, dice, and other stuff I need to play) and plans to get paint and glue to put the figures together 9and hopefully actually play the game somewhere near my home), has made me think about this.

The idea is mainly based around making original human characters from The Federated States of America, due to an accident, either end up in Equestria or cause ponies to be brought to their own world, which has two main points of departure from the original timeline; somehow, Cromwell winning the English Civil War speeds up the Industrial Revolution, and a new element, Element 270 (or Sturginium), which is used to power large, steampunk-style ironclads and giant tanks by 1870.

Admittedly, the storyline will probably be confusing for people who haven't played the game (which technically I haven't) and/or haven't studied the lore (which I have), which is my main concern for this story and one reason I hesitate to create it, along with the fact that my Robotech fans have received nothing in over six months and that I am working on a couple chapters simultaneously in Let's play some games with Leon, Luna, and Eddy, as well as the Animator Vs. Animation crossover I'm also working on (which is up to over 3,500 words as of this moment).
I acknowledge that I have the option to create it even if there is no common consensus, but if you guys could give me some input on this, I'd be grateful.
