Life is complicated.
“I’m so sorry,” the nurse said as gently as she could, “But your father has passed away.”
It rarely cares for the plans we have set into motion. We are at its mercy.
Sunset threw a ball of fire at the alicorn, who simply ignored it and stalked forwards. “You lied to me!” Sunset exclaimed. “I’m your greatest student! How can you just send me away?”
At any moment, everything we think we know can be thrown away and replaced with a world both vast and strange.
The monster was tall, balancing almost birdlike on her oddly thin legs. Her wings were relatively small, but still a good deal longer than Diane’s arm. Scarlet-colored electricity coursed up and down her light blue skin, and the eyes were black with glowing red irises.
When faced with such pressure, we have two choices: Cave in…
Rainbow stared at Twilight. “You do realize that you could kill somepony, right?” she asked the unicorn. “Even if it’s not a pony…”
...or fight back.
The three girls looked at each-other and nodded. As one, they grasped the necklaces around their necks and held them up. Magic crackled and flowed through the air between the three, the energy glowing brighter and brighter as their connection strengthened. In a flash of light, their ordinary clothes were replaced with brightly colored cloth and silver armor. In one voice, they shouted:
“It’s Morphing Time!”

Queen Celestia walked over to the balcony to raise the sun. She looked out over the Realm of Arcadia. Every country in the Realm, from Griffonstone to Equestria, had united under her and her sister’s wings. It was an impressive achievement, worth every second of pain that she and her sister had endured together over the last thousand years. The world has been altered… she mused to herself. What could that mean?
