New idea · 2:50am Feb 2nd, 2017

I've been watching some Animator vs. Animation, both the originals by Alan Becker and some TTS versions. I've come up with the rather persistent idea (as in, it won't go away) of making a ponified version, distantly related to Leon, Luna, and Eddy, but non-canon. I've come up with Spike and the CMC (primarily Sweetie Belle, since she can use a human-style keyboard using her magic) playing the part of the animator and a Celestia-style stickpony as the animation, with the powers she uses being more Equestrian-magic based than the Chosen One of AVA2 and 3. I was originally thinking of Twilight being the puzzled but determined animator, but I didn't think she'd be foolish enough to try taking on her own mentor in animation form. I decided to make the protagonists the unknowing kids instead, in the kind of kids-make-epic mistake, adults-find-out-at-the-very-end kind of deal. The human tag is in there as technically the technology was adopted from the human world, and one of the main characters of my other story will make a brief appearance. The offensive lines from the TTS versions will be censored.

Here's what I have so far;

"Hmm," Spike thought, scratching his chin with a claw. "I think I'm going to draw a stickpony."

"Okay," Scootaloo said. "So, let's get to drawing already."

Spike carefully drew the pony, sculpting an alicorn figure using the tool available. It looked almost exactly like Celestia or Luna, only in 2D.

"And right click..."

"Hey, what does 'convert to symbol' do?" Sweetie Belle asked, pointing.

"Huh, I dunno. Let's see."

Spike clicked on the option. Another box came up, with a name and type (movie clip, button, or graphic).

"Who should we make her?" Apple Bloom asked.

"Hmm. Twilight?" Spike typed it, but immediately deleted it. "Cadence?" That was deleted too. "Luna?" Again, deleted. "I know, Princess Celestia. Perfect." He hit the Enter key.

The image remained still... for a moment. Then it's front hooves suddenly came together and it bowed its head.

"What the?"

"What's it doing?" Scootaloo exclaimed.

That was answered a half second later; the stick alicorn burst out of the blue box it had been trapped in.

"Ah!"

The stickpony directed the flames it had used to escape at the cursor. Spike barely moved it out of the way in time.

"It's alive!" Sweetie screamed.

"What the heck do I do!? Twilight never told me about this happening before!"

The alicorn jumped down, picked up a bar at the bottom of the screen with it's horn (utilizing a black aura), and proceeded to bash the cursor.

"No no no no no!"

Spike managed to dodge the bar and click on the stickpony, attempting to delete her, but the animation simply scratched the "delete" option out before proceeding to smash the menu entirely with the bar and smashing the cursor into a menu to the right side of the screen.

"Let's see, maybe something in here..."

Spike clicked on one of the arrows nearby. Out came a list of weapons.

"Aha! Die!"

He picked up a sword and threw it. The alicorn dodged it, picked it up in her hooves, and threw it back, destroying the bar for the weapon menu.

"Uh, flamethrower!"

Spike placed the weapon, right clicked, and ordered it to aim and fire. The flames reached out toward the alicorn, but the pony simply responded with fire of it's own from her horn, turning the flames back toward the flamethrower, melting it's tank and causing the fuel to explode.

"Okay, this is getting serious. Let me try," Sweetie said, pushing Spike back with a hoof and taking the seat.

"Hey!"

"Bazooka... 1910 Maxim... and cannon," Sweetie said, selecting each weapon, placing them, and ordering them to "aim and fire."

The stickpony did a backflip, dodging the cannon and bazooka shots, and then conjured a black shield, blocking the machine gun's bullets. Her horn glowed gold before unleashing a laser-style attack, slicing each weapon in half and blasting the weapon menu, destroying it completely before blazing away with her magic at the top of the screen. Timeline tracks began to fall from a hole the magical attacks had made in the top of the screen.

"No! You're not supposed to... how is this even... ugh, never mind. Draw tool, time to do your thing!"

Sweetie drew a basket, catching the timeline tracks and then making a cannon below it. The cannon began shooting timeline tracks; Sweetie dragged the barrel and aimed it at the stickpony form of Princess Celestia, striking her with several of the tracks and forcing her into retreat. However, the alicorn simply formed another shield around herself.

"Well, you're not getting away this time..."

Or at least, that's what Sweetie thought, until the eraser tool flew down from it's position, slicing the cannon in two and allowing the timeline tracks to fall to the bottom of the screen.

"How? Oh right, magic."

"You're not doing any better than I was! Out! If Twilight finds out about this, we're dead!" Spike pushed Sweetie Belle off the chair and drew a sword with the draw tool, this time holding it with the cursor and slicing away at the stickpony.

I thought it might be a good idea for a purely comedic story for one or two chapters, but what do you guys think? Should I go through with this, or work on my other stuff?
