Job hunting, for real this time. Plus = a new car? · 4:47pm Jan 28th, 2017
I started my second semester of my second year of college recently. As a second semester student, the local auto shops tend to be more willing to hire us. So, I'm seriously looking into a few jobs.
Why would a college student take up a job and work as many ours as possible, you ask?
To buy a car. Not replacing my daily driver, that little guy's doing just fine.
This is why:
I was searching Craigslist the other day and came across an ad for a car. A car I've wanted one of for a long time, but never thought I'd be able to afford. Without giving too much detail, it's a late 1960's Dodge.
pretty much a roller, though it does have the original engine, and all the trim pieces. As a plus the body work would most likely be minimal. Th guy's asking a little under $5,000 for 'er. $5,000 is a lot of money for a college student, hence my getting a job. I've also got to find room for it in my garage.
Good news is that $5,000 is cheap for Dodges of that era, and finding space won't be too hard. I Even made a deal with the folks, if I can get at least half and clean the space, then they'll match it and help me bring 'er home.
I am not letting this slip by. So help me god.
