Interesting Reference in Sun and Moon

In Sun and Moon there's an optional set of battles called Nugget Bridge in Malie Garden. The Pokemon each trainer has are: First match (Rising Star Elijah): Caterpie and Weedle; Second Match (Lass Rika): Pidgey and Nidoran ♀; Third Match (Youngster Tyler): Rattata (Kanto variation), Ekans, and Zubat; Fourth Match (Lass Emmy): Pidgey and Nidoran ♀; Fifth Match (Rising Star Sean): Mankey; Final (Sixth) Match (Veteran Don): Ekans and Zubat. Sounds familiar? If it does, this is because it's an almost identical reference to Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow's Nugget Bridge in Route 24. The only differences are three of the trainers' classes (Rising Star Elijah, Rising Star Sean, and Veteran Don, due to the lack of the Bug Trainer, Jr. Trainer, and Rocket trainer classes being absent from the game) and the levels of the Pokemon are higher to compensate for being later in Sun and Moon than Gen I's is in their games. Even the text dialogue is identical!
