Your thingy (Involves Egghead a bit, actually.) · 10:01am Sep 24th, 2012
Do you have a thingy? I have a thingy, and it's extremely helpful.
No, this isn't referencing what you assume. I honestly don't know what to call the thingy, so I'm calling it a thingy. Basically, a thingy is your method of doing something, could be anything. Some food or drink or episode of jersey shore that triggers another activity in your mind.
For example; whenever I write stuff, I listen to this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIg8Vs-MVZA
Alex Day (known on youtube as Nerimon) has a trigger whenever he wants to do work: Peppermint Tea.
I have another trigger that (and this is the egghead bit) has lead me to write like half of the next chapter already...wait, I can't add emoticons do this? What the fuck? That just makes me depressed.
My trigger is another writing thingy. I have two, yeah. If I'm writing on the internet (where I'm only half as productive as I could be), I listen to that song I linked. When I'm writing while not on the internet, I write in a small, blue notebook that I have labeled "Not as good as Shakespeare", because it sounds moderately deep even though it's really not.
For whatever reason, psychology, whatever, I write a lot more in that notebook in the same amount of time than I can ever write online. Hell, took me a day to write the 2500 word chapter one. I also think I write a bit better when in the notebook. I dunno, clever lines just flowed out of me. Easier then they do on the internet.
I highly recommend that you all get thingies. They are truly outrageous. (If you got that reference, you are now my true love.)

Coincidentally, League of Legends is also my trigger. Even though it usually just makes me angry at people.
