(Eragon's) New Hope: The Hero's Story on Crack · 12:55am Nov 7th, 2016
Brace yourselves for word wall. This is also a bit of a mindf**k, so warning there. realized this a while back, just now put it in words.
A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a corrupt and powerful Empire rules over its hapless citizens, while a desperate rebellion attempts to fight back. One day, an extraordinarily valuable item is stolen from the Empire by the Rebellion, and is sent back with a princess of a neutral power that supports their cause. Unfortunately, the Empire ambushes the Princess, and take her prisoner, although not before she is able to send the Mcguffin in question away to a hiding member of the resistance. The item appears near a young farm boy in an isolated part of the Empire, who takes said item back home where he lives with his uncle, and accidentally discovers what it is. He seeks the help of an old hermit in the area, who happens to be the resistance member, and also part of an ancient order of people who kept the peace in the land, before one of their own betrayed them, and subsequently made himself emperor. Soon after, the Empire sends men to look for the Mcguffin, and are lead to the farm boy's home, where they kill his uncle and destroy the farm. The Boy and his Mentor flee across the Empire to the Rebels, where they come across an innocent group of people utterly slaughtered by the Emperor's Shiny New Weapon. While training the Boy in the ways of the Ancient Order, they discover the whereabouts of the Princess, and go to save her, getting the Mentor killed along the way. After saving the Princess, the Boy and Co. join the Rebels, and destroy the Shiny New Weapon that the Emperor had sent to destroy the Rebels once and for all. Later on in the series, the Boy goes to his previous Mentor's old Master, who trains him as well. He returns to the Rebels, and fights the Emperor's Right Hand Man, and is told that his father was also the Emperor's right hand man.
