From Frankie2:
"1. Become an alicorn princess
2. Move either The Sun or The Moon
3. What NO ONE has done...revive from the dead without being undead.

Those would have to be done without any assistance of any sort."

From RK_Striker_JK_5: "Cutting herself in half and reattaching herself?"

From SuperPinkBrony12: "Doing the Moonshot Manticore Mouthdive all on her own, and surviving."

From verypeeved: "convincing the world she doesn't exist?"

@ Frankie2: 1) I did some research via the FiM Wiki. Apparently, Alicorn-hood is a birthright, else a side-effect of a lot of magic potential and a spirit that is kindred to the Earth and the rest of ponykind. The potential for her to achieve Alicorn form is therefore inherent, although I would argue it could also be bestowed. I am inclined to lean in the latter direction, via Luna...
2) Personally, I theorize that neither Celestia nor Luna move the Sun and Moon, therefore Trixie does not have to either. Spinning the Earth itself is bound to be easier. For a stretch, she might affect the Moon(being closer), spinning it in place...
3) To me, that trick is a stretch, requiring a specific scenario. Of course, it is implied that she might kill herself to set up 'the prestige'. Otherwise, she would have to die randomly or during some grand adventure, perhaps sacrificing herself. Sacrifice or suicide work best for me, but I definitely incline toward the latter. However, again, the set-up requires some deadly peril, and regarding the story/scenario in which 'Trixie's Greatest Trick" might be addressed, I currently do not have plans to brush up against the Adventure/War genres.

I would also argue that, given her ponyal history and the nature of her hobby/profession - charlatanism is not out of the question. I also feel that a love interest might back her, without her knowledge. And should Alicorn-ism be deemed obtainable, she might indeed need the assistance of some few(perhaps many) others. I would argue that 'being first' counts for something.

@ RK_Striker_JK_5: Being similar to my thought, I have nonetheless reconsidered and decided that the use of a saw is just as dramatic as the use of a guillotine, and exponentially more horrifying if she is actually in prolonged pain during her severance. However, I am still fixated on the idea of head/body as opposed to 50/50.

@ SuperPinkBrony12: I believe that, to a certain degree, the essence of a truly great magician's showpony-ship is conceiving, designing and performing original tricks. I therefore feel that Trixie would be disinclined to perform a feat conceived by another showpony, even if she could be the first to actually achieve 'the prestige'' for it. That said, a closer examination of her character may change my mind...

@ verypeeved: The Usual Suspects. I suggested Mass Hypnosis. And the same effect would be achieved if she simply killed herself. I guess the trick is to still be alive. But there would have to be a body. And some authority would have to declare her dead. Then she would have to reinvent herself as somepony else. Perhaps transgendered? Is there an official R63 of Trixie?

Moi: "Do You think Big Mac would be more 'talkative' in a letter? Personally, I suppose he would be, as I seriously doubt it would be all duo-syllabic 'eeyup's and 'e-nope's..."

Lupus199: His letters "...would likely read like a cross between a telegram and a Hemmingway book. Short and direct messages."

The Brickslayer: "I can see that. Big Mac might by shy at first, but as he grows more comfortable with whoever he's pen pals - or more - with, he might start writing down more words in his letters."

Moi: 'Do you think he would feel comfortable asking questions(of his own)?'

The Brickslayer: "...he probably wouldn't, at least at first."

Moi: I suppose another question is, just how inquisitive his pen pal could be in their turn, without making Big Mac feel like an apple turning slowly on a spit. Would he feel obliged to respond formally to every question and therefore like his privacy was being invaded? Or, retaining the option not to answer every question put to him, would he politely dance away from those questions he is not (yet) comfortable answering?"

The Brickslayer: "I'd go with the latter, I don't think he'd answer questions he's not quite comfortable with answering yet and shy away from them."

Moi: What if their correspondence consists of one or two sentences only, per response? What if the first sentence is by way of an answer and the second is a question in return? If he prefers not to answer the question put to him, How would he feel about returning one? 'How 'bout this weather, huh?' ^o^'

You think he would simply try to change the subject?"

The Brickslayer: "He might."

LOVE NOTES
a ficcie in which Rarity courts Big Mac by letter. Part of the plotting is, of course, planning out their correspondence. I decided Rarity would want to keep things simple to start and be willing to 'circle the drain' for quite a while, before actually taking 'the plunge', as she took long enough to consider her relationship options beforehoof and realized how bad she has it for Big Mac. She is terrified of being rejected and, so, doesn't want to rush things with him. But she isn't getting any younger and can't wait to be with him, ready to stop living the best chapter of her life in her head and start letting her heart do the driving...with both hooves firmly at the wheel of her destiny.

May we be Friends?

Pen pals?

Rarity has the son of the mail pony("Parcel Post") personally deliver her love notes for her, tipping him handsomely(+ an {X} ?) when she both passes one on and upon taking receipt of Mac's responses. I figure on naming him Pen Pal XD

Reading that Trixie survey is weird to me since the byline on one of my stories literally starts with "The greatest trick the Great and Powerful Trixie ever performed..."

4322712 After so long, I cannot recall if it was nearer the survey or more recently, but I did discover that result and quite recently posted a Link to it in my Page Comments.

4322864 Oh, yep, you posted it on your user page comments I see. That's one of a very rare couple of cases for me where the picture inspired the story, but it was a weird thought tango to go from Trixie sitting at Twilight's grave to what the story actually ended up being about!
