Music SIG Likes #25 :: Meaningful Songs That Give you Chills · 6:47am Sep 11th, 2016
Something a bit more random and personal this time around.
A collection of some of various songs that give me chills whenever I listen to them. Many of these songs come bit and pieces that I have picked up from Significant Other. Various genres and styles and band represented here, and I enjoy them all.
I certainly would love to hear what meaningful songs give you all chills.
(pridark - My Shiny Teeth and Me)
On an unrelated note, singing a duet of the death-metal chorus of Trivium's In Waves with Significant Other while brushing our teeth in the lavatory is an excellent way to startle the next-door neighbours in the flat...

Awesome again Sig, songs that give me chills... Hmm..
I would have to say the disturbed cover of Sound of Silence is up there [youtube=https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Dg-g7t2l4]
But the kingpin for me? John Cale's rendition of Hallelujah

I could probably think of more given some effort, I listen to so many songs.

I typically resent modern rock bands covering classic songs like this, (I am still cross with FFDP for ruining House of the Rising Sun), but I think Draiman is spot-on with his version. I believe Simon himself approved of the cover on his Facebook page [Citation Needed]
John Cale was quite yummy as well.
Here are some more I enjoy:
Your Decision - Alice In Chains
The Man Who Sold The World - Nirvana
Endlessly - Muse
Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwoʻole
(One of the ultimate fluffy, feelgood songs!)
Certainly would love to see them!
