Well, Plomo o Plata is published

Another instalment of my version of Sunset's story, a work that has been pretty much my sole creative output of some last five years is out there.

Its not as great as I wanted it to be. It was better in my head, but still, I am very glad to have posted it. It was a big challenge for me, in almost every aspect. The genre, the style, the language, the story itself, but I think I pulled through.

Hi to ally precious few readers of Plomo o Plata,

There are few last moment revisions that came up, and with the bit of chaos happening in my life I'm running late.

    Sorry.

Ill get it done by next Wednesday for sure.

    Why We Fight

    Why do I write?
Why do I write what I chose to write?

I've been asked this question a few times, and I think I should put to paper the answer to it.

    So, why do I write?

The mastery of any art begins with the art of... imitation

So, I've recently read Peter Watts's anthology and it was _great_. And after reading it, I wrote an excerpt wherein I tried to imitate his style.
Unfortunately, it neither fits in my current fic (almost done, I swear!) nor does it make any sense out of context.

    My Little Xenophilia.

    I am finishing my fic.
    Finally.
It just clicked one day (and I think I barely wrote a hundred words on said day), that this is it. The final stretch.

The other guy's story · 11:43am Aug 31st, 2016

ACHTUNG: This is not a well-thought out post, so beware of rambling.

I've been thinking on the things I want to write, and it kinda came to me that I want to tell the story of the other guy.
We all know that trope in the movies. The long-time student of the ancient master, excelling in the technique who is not chosen to be number one because the fated newcomer came and took that mantle. The hero of the tribe who is unable to save his people, because a white dude came in with his unorthodox way and got his girl and saved the day. The archeologist who spent fortune and years uncovering ancient secrets, begging for his funding and cutting through the red tape, only for a whip-wielding wise-cracking asshole to bungle through, trampling all over the works and steal the priceless artifacts right under his nose. The guy who makes a deal with his consciousness and with powers that should not be named, much less summoned, to achieve his goals, only for all to crumple in front of his eyes, by a charming rogue and his cute animal sidekick.

The un-chosen ones. The ones with no great fate, no plot immunity. The ones who don't get the girl and do not have prophecies about them fulfilled, who have to pay their way through life with blood, sweat and tears.

They deserve a story too.
