Sonnet #2
by CoffeePony
Whom should I envy? The sun or the moon?
For the moon watches over you as you sleep,
And hear your noises and small little tunes,
And see your tears when at night you weep.
She gently caress you with her faint light,
She knows everything about you in the dark,
For she’s been with you for every single night,
And leaves in the morn without a trace or mark.
Or shall I envy the sun who floats up there?
For unlike the moon, he sees you every day,
All your secrets, your vows and petty swears,
He sees what you do; he hears what you say,
And without even knowing, he kisses your lips,
Whenever his light touches your petulant tips.
