Sonnet #3
by CoffeePony
I stare outside my window, gaping at your beauty,
Your rays of shining light caress my whole being,
Moon, in your beauty, I lose all my subtlety.
I admire, no love, all the imperfections I’m seeing.
For yes, it’s true, the sun may shine much brighter,
Yet you’re much prettier than an oyster’s pearl,
I can stare at your perfection without an eye’s falter,
Your little bumps and cracks make your beauty swirl
It’s man’s natural instinct to wish to reach you,
Our hands we’ll raise up to attempt your reach,
Only to be reminded on the ground we stand true,
And from a far life’s lesson you teach,
That sometimes our dreams will reach an unbeatable hindrance ,
And all we can do is admire them from a distance.
