Ask anyone I know personally, and they'll tell you that I like mathematics, simplicity, and ease of access to information.
Never is this more true than when I find a number in my life that has significance to me, and an easily noticed mathematical quirk to it.
I like finding simple ratios in the ratings of my stories, pulling apart the systems by which stories are ranked, and I sigh with the mental ease of finding a perfect square number somewhere of value.
I have my own mathematical sequence that no one else has claimed to find yet —yes, I checked. I have a mathematical conjecture sitting in one of my personal notebooks less than a meter away from my bed, and I'm two years ahead of the standard mathematical expectations.
I'm taking pre calculus this year, and I'm still fifteen years old. I brag about this a lot, in case you weren't aware. And I just love math!
So, now that I have twenty followers, I am placed at the 11,333rd place for follower ranking.
And I mean, just look at that number. It has a nice sort of calm repetition to it.
Here's why I like math. It's okay in school to just pass your tests and do your homework, but you're rewarded for digging deeper, like playing Angry Birds. A toddler can pass through the game without trouble, but if you put your mind to thinking the mechanics through, you're gonna get that nice view of a three star rating, and the game makes you feel awesome for doing it.
I suggest you check out Numberphile and Vihart because they're awesome at showing you why math isn't the boring thing your teachers didn't actually care about.
