POKEMON AUGUST UPDATE!!! (Part 2) · 7:18pm Aug 16th, 2016

This is actually my second time writing this, but I didn't want to make just another blog saying "Oops, I dun goofed again!". I want you guys to know that no matter how much I probably insult you guys, intentionally or accidentally, I love you all. You've all been so supportive of me in the past few years I've been here, and you deserve way more than I can give. So, while it's small, I'll work through my laziness and give you the analysis you should get from me.

Let's get started!

NEW POKEMON!

Note that I am well aware of the new Corocoro leaks that included the prevolution of Bewear and the cool-looking sandcastle Pokemon. However, for my sanity's sake I will not talk about them here until we get more information about them.

Wishywashy

Type: Water
Class: Small Fry Pokemon
Ability: Schooling
Analysis:
I don't know why, but I can't stop saying Wishywashy. It's just a fun word to say! Wishywashy, Wishywashy! Anyway, Wishywashy does not evolve. I know that's what you might be thinking when you see that huge fish below it, but no. Instead, when it reaches a certain level and takes enough damage in a battle, it will change its form into its school form, in which it gains a surge of power and is able to take on opponents up to pseudo-legendaries. However, when it takes damage again it'll revert back into its previous, weaker form. Its design is pretty cute, but I'm not really a fan of its school form. It just looks like a collection of blue goldfish crackers piled together. And now you can't unsee that! I'll just stick to Wimpod for my Water-type, thank you.

Pyukumuku

Type: Water
Class: Sea Cucumber Pokemon
Ability: Innards Out
Analysis:
Yes, we get it Alola; you like Water, Fire and Grass-types. Can you give us something different? Nonetheless, this is Pyukumuku, which I won't even try spelling again to prevent me looking like an idiot. Which I am, but I digress. We now have a Sea Cucumber Pokemon, just like the Chinese leakers said we would! With their near-accurate claims I think its safe to say that anything they announce will be right. I love this thing's design, since it's a little difficult to make an ugly sea cucumber look cute. I think GameFreak pulled it off pretty well. It has a new ability called Innards Out, which works a bit like Aftermath actually! Only unlike Aftermath, instead of just the usual one-fourth health loss when the attacker defeats it, however much health Pyukumuku (tried it again, lol) had left is reflected onto the attacker's health loss. Not sure if this is stretching it, but if you one-shot this thing it could very well mean the end for your Pokemon. Oh, and its ability is referencing the fact that sea cucumbers and actually literally seriously use their guts to defend themselves. That's both gross AND cool!

Morelull

Type: Grass/Fairy
Class: Illuminating Pokemon
Ability: Illuminate/Effect Spore
Analysis:
And now we have the mushroom that was foretold by the Chinese leakers, so I think it's safe to say that the leaks are true. Which means we'll be seeing a Dolphin Pokemon super soon! As for Morelull, I'm actually not all that impressed by it. Credit where credit is due, it does look cute and its Grass/Fairy-type is pretty cool. But Whimsicott has the same typing AND has better abilities in the form of Prankster and Infiltrator! And what does Morelull have? A useless and infuriating ability, and a super common ability on much better Pokemon. Honestly I'd just stick with Whimsicott any day. Its only real hope is evolution, in which MAYBE it might get some pretty good stats to go along with the typing. But until then it'll just be another Mushroom Pokemon to me.

Alolan Meowth

Type: Dark
Class: Scratch Cat Pokemon
Ability: Pickup/Technician
Analysis:
Yes, yes, and a thousand times YES! This is what I wanted from GameFreak: to have a Dark-type Alolan Pokemon somewhere in the Pokedex. Although that Dark-type Raticate does sound a bit more promising, I'm still happy with this. Maybe now Meowth can be a decent Pokemon with a Bite and Night Slash STAB, and hopefully it evolves into Alolan Persian somehow because if it doesn't that would just be wasted potential. C'mon, let's see some more stuff, GameFreak! I also love that look in its eyes that gives off the vibe that it KNOWS its better than you. What a fucking prick. But I still love it to bits!

Alolan Marowak

Type: Fire/Ghost
Class: Bone Keeper Pokemon
Ability: Cursed Body/Lightning Rod
Analysis:
Someone better pick up that phone, because I FUCKING CALLED IT!!! Then again, after Kiawe's description said he traveled around the world for new dances or whatever with his Marowak, and seeing how he's the Fire-type trial captain, it was inevitable for Marowak to get an Alolan form. Team Rocket should have left that Marowak alone, because now its back with a vengeance. I'm loving its design AND its typing, but the only real thing that irks me about it is its abilities. Don't get me wrong, they're still good its just I feel like they don't have any place with Alolan Marowak. Cursed Body is alright but nothing really eye-catching, and Lightning Rod has no use anymore now that its not a Ground-type. Still, despite all that I think this thing will be quite the formidable foe when it comes to eventually taking it on in a battle. My friend's favorite Pokemon is Marowak, so I'm sure he'll be super excited when he sees this!

Alolan Raichu

Type: Electric/Psychic
Class: Silver Surfer Pokemon Mouse Pokemon
Ability: Surge Surfer
Analysis:
This is my favorite of the three new Alolan Pokemon, and not because Raichu is the evolution of one of the most popular Pokemon to date. It's because it's a Electric/Psychic-type, which until now was only an official type in the Pokestar Studio back when B2W2 was still relevant. But now we get the typing, and I gotta say I'm impressed with how this will go down. Of course it give Raichu three more weaknesses than usual, but on the plus side it now has a STAB to many powerful Psychic-type moves like Psychic, as well as still having access to some Electric-type moves like Thunderbolt and the likes. Its design is super cute too, and its Pokedex entry mentions pancakes. So yeah, that's a plus.

IT'S YOUR BOYS, TEAM SKULL!!!

Uh, uh, Team Skull
Get down (dubadubdubdub)
Uh, just watch
Get out, get outta the way (get down)

This has got to be the best thing to happen to Pokemon in a long time. This is a team much like Team Rocket: they want your money and your Pokemon, so they're gonna steal it and look good doing it too. The only difference here is that, unlike the incompetent Team Rocket, these guys got some serious swag behind them. If they have nothing to do with the legendary Pokemon of Alola then I will be the happiest man alive, I swear to god!

Oh, and their theme kicks some serious ass as well. Like, for reals! But in any case, let's see what our friends over at Team Skull have to say in terms of bosses and whatnot.

Plumeria

The "Big Sister" of Team Skull who keeps every single grunt in line. She cares about her "brothers and sisters", and since messing with the grunts of brings her out of the cage she is more than likely the reason why Team Skull hasn't been apprehended yet. I love her design to be quite honest with you, and her name is actually a Hawaiian flower's name, which I find slightly endearing. I do wish she has a lot of relevance in the plot of Sun and Moon since the game seems to be more story-driven than the other games, but we'll see what happens. If she was given more plot time though, I kind want her to be related to Lillie somehow. Like biologically related.

Guzma

Whether you say "Guhz-mah" or "Gooze-mah", we can't deny this dude is kickass in more ways than one. As the leader of Team Skull it's only natural he has some kind of backstory, and it seems he was a rejected trial captain back in his day. He also reveals that Professor Kukui is also a rejected captain, though he has a beef with him for some reason. My guess is that they both have different viewpoints on coping with the situation, which could lead to some interesting conversations between them. Then again this is Pokemon we're talking about, so don't expect anything TOO deep. Regardless, I love this guy despite him being evil, and you should love him too!

And that's the analysis!

Sorry for the wait; I had a vacation, and then my last copy never got saved and everything went to shit and I felt really bad about it. But I did it; I managed to do this for you guys, so I hope you enjoyed it!

Speaking of enjoying it, how is everyone liking or disliking the new Pokemon Sun and Moon reveals? Do you thing the new changes and Pokemon are interesting or do you think it ruins the point of what Pokemon is supposed to be? Honestly, whatever your answer may be, I hope to hear from you guys soon in the comments down below!

Until then, this is SuperKamek signing off. Peace!

I guess we're gonna be waiting a while for the next update. By the way, if they reveal a Pokemon that is basically a surfboard it better be grass or part grass type.

Team Skull looks epic!

Eevee and it's eevolution has been see in a good chunk of the trailers, we know there's no new evolution but now with all of these Alolan Pokemon could there be an Alolan eevolution?

I had one week to prepare for this comment...
and instead binge watched an anime I postponed far too long.
So let's see how bad I am at being spontaneous:
Wishywashy: Wait, that's its actual english name?! No joke? Doesn't look wishy-washy to me.
Pyukumuku: Why do I have to think of Breadwinners when I see this Pokemon? Also this time germans had luck in the name lottery (Gufa)
Morelull: mushrooms! I got nothing to say.:applejackunsure:
Meowth: Meowth's cool, smug cousin.
Marowak: Cubone and Marowak have always belonged to my favouites. I hope I can take it in my team.
Raichu: Looks interesting and could become dangerous with its new ability. (If they finally use the electric field)
Although not in this blog Mini-Pedobear looks admittedly kinda cute and I belong to the group who likes the sandcastles (beach vacation will never be the same)
Team Skull looks cool and I have high hopes for them.
Please Plumeria (german: Fran) and Guzma (ger.: Bromley) do not disappoint me!!:rainbowdetermined2:

Hmm? Why part Grass?

4153342
Took the words right outta my mouth.

4153372
Whoa... I never considered that before... You may actually be onto something! Hopefully you're right, since Eevee is still a popular Pokemon, so it wouldn't surprise me if GameFreak just used it for the sake of popularity.

4153386
Hey, he's got Bro in his name, so he must be awesome! :rainbowlaugh:

4153429 I hope so because if they don't this is going to be me.

4153427 Traditional Hawaiian surfboards are made from the indigenous wood of the islands.

no matter how much I probably insult you guys, intentionally or accidentally, I love you all.

In my group of friends, that's how you know you're part of the group.

Alolan Meowth and Marowak's looks and types actually match their pokedex entries. The rest are kinda unremarkable to me. Except for Pyukumuku's ability. That sounds like it's not too dangerous at low levels, but when you get to a high level, it's extremely dangerous.

4153509
I still want my Fire/Grass-type though. :applejackunsure:

4153605 That would be cool, and it would fit in with the aesthetic of the Alola region. Maybe we'll see a bunch of new type combinations in Sun and Moon. Fire/Grass, Ghost/Fighting, Bug/Faerie, etc. I've not seen or heard any Pokemon that are of those type combinations.

4153602
Thanks, man. And yeah, Pyukumuku sounds like it might be the next Wobbuffet for Nuzlockers if they decide they want to grind for EXP.

4153615 Alternate spelling of Fairy.
