In life, Dragon Priests were some of the most powerful magic users who ever lived. They had authority of kings and were responsible for keeping the peace between mortals and dragons. Only the best priests would be granted powerful masks with names. These masks had insane magical powers, and can withstand the flow of time. The Dragon Priest daggers were sometimes used for ritual sacrifice, and cannot be made by Tamriel smiths today. The priests were also know to use staffs in battle.
