On the topic of Pokemon Generation 3 · 3:45pm Jul 30th, 2016
My first introduction to Pokemon was Pokemon Ruby. I later went on to play Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green.
And after playing a bunch of ROM hacks of those games, I've been thinking: It'd be interesting if someone just did some minor "edits" to those games to make them better.
Nothing major, just making the Islands where you can get Mew Lugia/Ho-Oh and Deoxys available without cheats.
A visible change when it's night, because Gen 3 DID have a day and night cycle. Only unlike in Gen 2, for whatever reason, it wasn't visible.
Another interesting thing to add would be the Physical Special Split. This would make moves like Blaze Kick and Fire Punch far more useful, as without it, you might as well just use Flamethrower, it's stronger than either of them and just as if not more reliable.
Maybe just make the Elite 4 and the local Teams, (Rocket and Magma/Aqua/both) a bit stronger, just up their levels like by 2 or 3. No plot changes, just minor edits to make it a bit more interesting as I said before. I think it could make the games a lot more interesting, and I'd like to think a lot of others would also agree.
