A good story displays a moral, the best ones attach you to the characters who display them.

New Chapter Out, and New Cover!

Background shamelessly stolen from an actual SoT book
I'd recommend giving that one a read!

    Featured?!

Y'know for a moment there I was scared I'd lost my touch when it came to writing after I took those years on hiatus... this is a really encouraging sign.

Thank you all so much for showing me I've still got it! It's reassuring, and more than a little flattering. Don't think I've really processed it yet, since I basically just woke up.

    Good to be Back

I won't promise that I'll be able to return to my old projects immediately, or even at all. But I did mean it when I said I was coming back! I've spent too long not doing anything about my passion for writing, and that needs to change. :twilightblush:

So, in I come with a brand new story to tell! Please, come and tell me what you think of the beginning to the Coves of Courage!

    The Old Bones Creak

The pegasus' eyes fluttered open blearily. How long had it been since they closed? Weeks? Months? His coat felt uneven and unkempt, his mane was longer than he remembered, and thick with tangles he could feel without even moving yet. When his eyes adjusted to the low light around him, the dusk seeping in through a boarded up window; everything he had known was coated in moss and lichen. Vines

What's up With the Everfree? · 1:48am Jul 29th, 2016

I know I'm not the only one who's noticed this, since Silverquill has touched on the subject from time-to-time, but the whole lore of the Everfree seems off lately.

In the first couple seasons, it was a magical forest with a need to be feared, full of Timberwolves, Parasprites, Hydras, Cockatrices, and all sorts of monstrosities!

As the show went on, even the foals could jog through the wood and come out without any worries.

I'm no Silver, but I do have two theories as to why this may be...

Enter the Headcanon!:yay:

#1: Superstition.
The forest's reputation was passed on from Granny Smith's time on as a way to prevent foals from going in, and getting lost in the labyrinthine woods. And as their quests into the forest went on, the Mane Six and CMC saw that the reputation was mostly undeserved, and the forest slowly but surely lost it's threatening air.

#2: Seasons.
No, I'm not talking seasons as in Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn. Though, I guess you could say that in a way, I am. I'm saying the Everfree might go through it's own calendar of when it is "Awake", and when it "Sleeps", so to speak. That's my personal Headcanon.

There really isn't that much more to theorize on the subject, though it begs the question of whether it can sleep for years, or months, or just if it "Decides to Ignore" the ponies.

Until Next Time, I'm Amethyst Dawn, thank you for reading.

God Bless You!
