I'm taking a tiny break from my work to do this but I can't be tardy now can I? Anyways, I want to go over some tech designs a bit. I may sketch them out on paper to give you guys an idea of what I'm talking about but here are some concepts.
(Note: this willl play greatly on the technology gap in Equestria I mentioned).
The Equestrian Longshot
[My most developed idea] The Equestrian version of a sniper will carry what is essentially a sniper rifle but instead of firing bullets, it will fire concentrated beams of arcane magic powered by gems which could be held in cartridges. This weapon is still under development and if anypony can add anything that makes sense it would be greatly appreciated.
The Valhallan Military
This one is up for grabs. We've got humans mixed in from the past, present and future so I think the tech should reflect that a bit and be a little advanced. I want suggestions. This will incorporate vehicles that can be operated by both pony and human operators so be specific.
Royal Equestrian Air Force
This will be the small airship fleet that will be docked in Canterlot. I'm developing an idea for a teleportation drive in these ships but it is incomplete. Any other technologies will come from audience.
Other Weaponry/tech
Anything else. You contribute.
FUTURE PLANS!
I don't intend on making this story focus on the war if that is what you are all thinking. It'll play onto the plot as we go along and will affect the country and the ponies view of humanity as a whole. My plans aren't single minded mind you. I'll be working on my other subplots in the finale.

Suggestions for the sniper rifle; incorporate some tech or magic to make the fired energy stream invisible and quiet. A possible modern day analog would the pulse laser tech in development, but then as ponies have magic so they can just put some type of illusion to do the same thing.
For the airforce why not have them create an airship that is a mix of the Arkbird from AC5 and the Agaion from 6. Basically an airborne carrier for pegasi that has an upscaled version of that magical sniper rifle for long range bombardment. Of course its something that should always be in the rear as it most like it would be a fragile target.
You can also have pegasi with enchanted armor to make them invisible, instant stealth fighters!
Speaking of teleportation, why not create an equestrian spec ops unit composed of unicorns that utilize illusions, invisibility, teleportation and other spells to do their work.

dont forget tanks for the Valhallan military, something like an Abrams would incorporate you modern, a railgun as the main cannon will incorporate the future, and then add a dozer blade or something similar, something low-tech. I will just remind you, the inside of the tank is amazing small, not alot of room, so maybe the smaller stature of ponies will be a boon to them, but the lack of fingers will make it harder for them to manipulate certain controls(aka the cadillacs(aka the controls for the main gun)) so unicorn would be a must in tanks(and other turreted vehicles)
So your smaller vehicles maybe add something like the speeder bikes from star wars, just modify them in such a way that they are useful to both the pony and human scouts that would be riding them(think of them as the light caverly)
and for medium vehicles just give them strykers or bradleys, just change out the weapons with a future version, maybe replace the engine with one that's powered by magic

Last two for now:
Some sort of gem or talisman that can teleport an injuried individual to a medical facility. Just like the the emergency escape system from the anime " Space Warship Yamamoto Yoko"
And something for earth ponies; do you know the Liger Zero from Zoids? It has the capibility to swap its armor depending on what is needed. So what you do is give a pony a light inner armor than can be connected the armor itself. The type of armor equipped would depend on what is needed on the battlefield, may it be heavy armor for the front line or saddle mounted ranged weapons.
Its selling points would be these;
- Due to compartmentalized nature, when a part breaks you just remove that part and replace it.
- While the concept is not exclusive to earth ponies, due to the nature of both earth pony strenght and the armor itself they are best suited for it.
- It doesn't have to be fancy.
- While the Valhallans most likely have access to power armor(both technological and the FoE magical types), its safe to assume the Equestrian army does not. The armor can be magcial but for mass productions sake most of it is not. This also addresses something I noticed with my suggestions almost all of them relies a wee bit to much on magic. While not a bad thing perse (they are magical ponies to begin with) anyone knows you don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Really can't think of any good suggestions for the Valhalans as how they are presented

another thing to look at for the vahallens is to not give them full power armor, put have power sections, like a power arm that allows them to carry a heavy weapon and fire it from the hip(like from aliens) as for close in weapons don't forget your shotguns and knife, to make them futuristic you could give them something like a doublebarrel pump action, bull pup shotgun(admit it, there ain't much you can do to improve shotty's) abd for knife just look at modern knifes and give them one that you like, not much improvement that can be done with them either, but you could give them a advanced knife fighting technique, that would be a cross between Brazilian jutitzu, and Chinese/Japanese martial arts
