Death of a Macbook · 9:46pm Sep 7th, 2012
Ah there is truly no better way to ring in a new year of college than a good old computer breakdown.
Last weekend I was using my Macbook that I had since 2007 (yes, back when I had colitis and before the Giants beat the Patriots in Superbowl 42) and I closed it for a little bit. Nothing out of the ordinary, everything seemed to be working fine. In fact, everything seemed to be going great as I was finally able to use my Apple while at school (last year the internet didn't work on it and I had to settle with my school-issued thinkpad...not as good as my Mac, I can tell you that much).
So when I opened it up the screen was grey. Nothing was happening so I decided to shut down and restart.
Still grey.
I let it sit for a couple of hours.
Still grey.
A couple more hours.
It worked.....
NAH! Just kidding it was still grey as a thundercloud.
So I had to make an appointment with the nearest Apple Store. Easy no?
Except the nearest Apple Store was in Greensboro...a full 45 minues away from my college campus.
And, not having a car, I had to suck up my dignity and ask my hallmate to drive me there. Being the nice guy he is, he accepted without any hesitation.
But here's the kick...he hates Apple, and he had to sit in the store with me, rolling his eyes non-stop as the images promoting their new iPhone and computers flashed on a giant screen behind the help counter. I honestly can't thank him enough for driving me there.
Finally I was able to get it assessed. I had hope that at least my data would be saved.
Guess what? It was my hardware.
As of now, my data is all gone. My IB papers from 11th and 12th grade, my previous stories that I had on there (two terrible fanfics I wrote for Lion King and Digimon when I was in tenth grade), and so much more. Gone, Deleted. Into the abyss of lost data.
Fun day that was...not.
AHHHHH! That's why you don't use a mac man!

In its defense, it did last me a long time.
That being said I'm freaking pissed off about all the stuff I lost. Especially my screenplays that I started
343457 Stupid mac saying, cursed me. Immediatly after this, I cut my main typing/tracerpad finger with a blade. (REALLY shap one too!) Damn, and yeah macs CAN last a long time. But, they stole an OS, so i hate 'em
OH MY GOSH! I'm sorry for you mate...I know how it feels like when all your hard work is gone... suffice to say that I didn't take it as well as you.

Don't blame you one iota. Lucky for me a lot of my stuff was on my Thinkpad and flashdrives. So hopefully most of my work is saved.
Still sucks, but at least I'm not losing my mind about it.
yes...not losing...mind....completely sane....
I hate any Apple products lol, most of them are basically stolen or blatantly copied products.
Yeah my friend (the one that drove me to the store) told me how he used to have a macbook but after some bad experiences with the company he switched over to a PC. He still has an iPhone, but that's only because he has all of his music and data on the device and he doesn't want to lose it. I'm probably going to get another macbook for my birthday/Christmas.
I'm not an Apple hater, I just know a lot of people out there who do hate them so I wrote this blog as a little "funny story" and then decided to turn it into a fanfic.

Sorry, I forgot to make that last comment a reply to you lol
