In this world of chaos, one must either enjoy it, try to change it, or find peace with it. So why have I found solace in all three?

The EU Refferendum... · 12:34pm Jun 24th, 2016

Yeah...that happend. Sadly, I had an exam, so everything that happened in the world between 9:00am and 1:00pm (GMT) had to wait until after then. And when I saw the clusterfuck that was the aftermath... :facehoof::facehoof::facehoof::facehoof::facehoof::facehoof:

For those who havn't seen the aftermath, our Prime Minister is stepping down in October, the Pound has fallen, Nigel Farage has now been seen as a liar on live TV, Poundland might be closing, and there may be a second refferendum on this because "less than 60% voted leave, and less than 75% voted at all".

To be honest, I'm somewhat ashamed to be Welsh, considering that they mainly voted to leave. Yet Wales gets more funding from the EU than the rest of the UK. So it would make more sence to stay in, right? It seems not :facehoof:

Well that's a psudo-rant over. Now to eat and play videogames, while I try to forget all my problems...

I just hope that Northern Ireland doesn't do anything stupid...

4048471 What would you say would be "stupid" then?

4048486 like moving to join with the republic, not sure the effort that will gave but I know it will just cause more uproar, push for independence or some crap like that. This whole thing has just given me one massive headache

4048490 Ireland wanted to remain though. I could see them go for independance if Scotland managed to become independant because of this. Speaking of which, I'm angry that Wales wanted to leave. And we get the most out of the EU

4048502 I don't get why the countries in the world are trying to divide themselves. If we want any kind of better future we all need to be united. All of this stems from one thing, immigration from the Middle East. As much as it is a horrible thing to do to innocent people that are fleeing war torn countries, the EU needs to stop letting refugees into Europe, it is causing too many problems. Not to mention the growing number of rape cases because of it, and the other conflicts it has brought

4048512 To be honest, the immigration problem is the one thing that is pissing me off about this too. However, I'm happy for migrants to come to this country as it promotes diversity, and that's something that, if I have kids, is something I would want to promote. I believe that Prof. Dumbledore in one of the Harry Potter books sait that "we are stronger together", or something along those lines. And we (as in Britain) are.

4048525 I'm fine with mixing cultures and "races" (I never understood why that was ever a word, we're all human) and diversity, but when those we let in eventually become the majority, that's when it becomes a problem

4048529 I'm guessing that the only fix is for the world to allow immigration on a controlled level. Just remember that immigrants tend to do jobs the people in the original country don't want to do, and usually for a bit cheaper

4048541 oh no I totally get that, it's one of the reasons I hate the argument of "they take our jobs" which is overused and not at all believable. Most of my class used this to try and justify wanting to leave the EU, and they have no idea of the actual repercussions and its effect, they're all close minded idiots

4048544 Slightly off-topic, but I have a brother who is 14 and a half. He doesn't get a say on his future yet understands enough to be able to vote, yet he has to live with the decision that was practically made by OAPs. People who won't have to see the full affect as they are likely to die within the next 20 years or so. My best mate is 18 next month, yet he didn't get a say. His future was made up because of people older than any of us, possibly combined.

(Sorry about this psudo-rant :pinkiehappy:)

4048550 I'm 15 and this is what I'm mad about. Any chances I had of working abroad are now severely lowered and in the end it's me and the raft of my age group that has to deal with all of this bullshit, like we don't already have to deal with enough crap that the old generation has left behind for us to fix

4048557 I'm 18 as is, yet my chances of finding work abroard is also hit, albeit not as badly as you or my brother. I just hope that there is a chance that Britain can fix this enough so that our generation can get work.

I will give props to one of my friends though, as he is moving to Japan soon so that he can become a teacher. et he's had to apply for a visa, so there's that...

4048566 wouldn't he have had to apply for a visa anyway?

4048573 Yes, but now that we're leaving, it would most likely mean we'd have to get a visa to go anywhere else to work. Something that would mean only a lucky few, or those willing to go into debt, or save for a few years, would be able to get.

4048581 one thought goes through my mind every time I hear more and more of the negative effects of this

We, are, fucked

4048590 Then I guess it's time we stopped talking about it, and allow us to regain some hope before we continue this.

4048593 I have no hope for this, I'm just gonna sit back and watch the world destroy itself (I swear to God if Boris Johnson becomes prime minister...)

4048602 It would be surreal to have someone like him become PM (considering his personality), but I'd be interested to see what happens. As long as Nigel Farage doesn't become PM, I'll be happy in the short term.

4048614 to be honest the people in line to take power in the worlds governments right now are just awful

4048633 bar clinton, I completly agree. I would've rathered Obama stay in office for a third term, but I guess there's a rule stating that Presidents can't serve more than 2 terms in a row. And I think Cameron is kicking himself over his resignation

4048646 isn't Clinton backed by the KKK and and also has a criminal record?

4048657 that's news to my ears then. If true, I take it back. The world is fucked (at least, Britain and America is)

4048665 Does Canada still have any free slots left? If so I guess I know where I'm going...

4048668 That's my plan if this goes belly up. Only I'm getting my Masters first.

4048672 I'll have to get my GCSEs first and maybe some form of degree

4048674 good idea. At least then there's more chance of being accepted

4048678 if I can't, I'll just shovel snow for a ridiculous amount of money

4048686 And I'll most likely find employment up north, and move with my best mate to Scotland. It's a bit like Wales, but colder and not so much nice weather...
