Metroids, Waddle Dees, and a 512-Bit Horse (Oh my!) · 9:14pm Jun 8th, 2016
So lately, some stuff has been happening to me, and I felt like posting a blog about it all.
First of all, the official graduation for Lee High School was last Saturday. I'm happy to say that not only is my tassel on the left side of my cap now, but after throwing our caps into the air, mine was found and returned to me. I also got a total of $250 from family members as graduation gifts. I'm definitely putting some of that money towards video games, obviously, but I'll try to save a decent chunk of it. I may also try to get a Capture Card for my Wii U so I can start a gaming channel on Youtube, but between not knowing what kind of hardware I need vs what I have and just how damn hard it is to start a Youtube channel - especially gaming - that's still pretty up in the air...
Well, that whole paragraph had nothing to do with giant soul-stealing jellyfish, now did it? Whoops. Anyway, on to the first part of this blog's title. I'm not sure if I've said anything yet, but a while back, I bought Metroid Prime Trilogy for my Wii U. Only recently, however, did I finish the first of the three games. (If you want to avoid spoilers, don't worry about a thing. I try not to spoil anything here.) Over the course of the whole game, I only suffered two Game Overs, and they were both against the third-to-final-boss. (The one you fight to get the last pickup.) After that, though, let me just say that the last area is literally Hell. Seriously, aesthetic-wise, it's got that exact feel to it, combined with how difficult it is to move forward. But, I made it, and MAN IS THAT LAST BOSS CHEAP! Still, a rewarding finale, even if the last phase was a bit... I'll say "boring." Anyway, I'm on to Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It's a little bit what small children may call "scawey," but it's alright so far. Something I've noticed about these two games is that they started out "boring, but atmospheric," then work their way up to "exciting and aesthetically pleasing" very well. But the question remains... WHY DOES SAMUS GET RID OF ALMOST ALL HER WEAPONS AND UPGRADES AFTER EACH GAME? SERIOUSLY, WHAT GIVES?
Ahem... on to the next thing...
So this Friday, a game that I've been hyped for for a long time comes out.
Seriously, I haven't been this hyped for a game since Pokken Tournament. I'm even buying one of the Kirby Series amiibo with the game! (The Dedede one. I was gonna buy the Waddle Dee amiibo, but it only gives you the Parasol ability, the costume you get in-game looks ugly, and you can't use it in Smash Bros. Disgraceful...) Anyway, Summer's not quite here yet, so I'll go ahead and take one last ride on the spring breeze...
Next is something weird that I really should only mention in passing. I recently came up with an idea for a Minecraft-based roleplay/Youtube series/whatever "Red vs Blue" would be categorized as. It'll be a slice of life series called "Uma no Ten" or, if you wanna be boring and say it in English, "Heaven's Horse." The story will focus mainly on a Player who rescued a horse whose herd was mysteriously slaughtered when she was still a filly. Obviously, there'll be more to the story than that, but that's really all I'm comfortable sharing with the public right now. (For those of you wondering, while bestiality will be mentioned in passing throughout the series, the main character is NOT a horse-fucker.)
And finally, I plan on getting a job soon. The Gamestop near my house is holding a job fair next Thursday, which will potentially put me in a job far later than I'd planned, (this Monday), but oh well. At least my parents haven't kicked me out of the house yet. (See where having respect for everyone around you for the first 18 years of your life can get you?)
Welp, that's about it. Sorry fanfictions haven't been getting written on my end. To be fair, I'm at a bit of a roadblock with RPG Maker as well. Dunno if I've mentioned this, but mapmaking isn't my forte, especially when I'm designing a school with four "distinct" buildings, each having multiple floors and wings. Hey, at least I'm taking the easy way out and not allowing the player into any of the classrooms.
Anyway, so long until next time.
4009756 I meant the ones she obtained throughout Prime 1. (Gravity Suit, Wave Beam, etc.)
Guess I should have cleared that up...
