My non-existent fanbase: OMG WHERE'S EQUESTRIA'S TIME!? IS HILIE OVER!?
Calm down. I'm not dead. I'm still around. And I'm still writing. Not as often as I used to, but you can blame life for getting in the way...
Nearly two years ago. When I first started working on Equestria's Time, I had written a blog post, explaining stuff. I was fifteen years old at that time. My writing was pretty crap, and I relied on an editor. I was also in that "try to be random to look funny" kind of stage. And while I still maintain that personality, I keep it sustained enough to the point where I don't look like a complete moron in front of everyone.
I am currently seventeen years old, in a few months, I'll be eighteen.
Back when I first wrote that blog post, I had the mindset that I would've had Equestria's Time done by now, maybe even earlier. And look where we're at. Two years, and we're still practically in the beginning. (Close to the middle, but quite a few ways to go, shut up.) And during that time I ended up writing a whole series of stories... by accident, I guess.
Life has been hitting me hard lately, I've begun to have slightly less free time due to my homeschool (yeah, I'm homeschooled, fun little fact for everyone.) decided to activate some sort of secret "hardcore mode" that I never knew. Not literally, that was a joke.
The reason why I bring up the time I started working on Equestria's Time, is cause of a blog post I did on August 2nd, 2014. I mentioned how my dream was to be a video game developer. I still have that dream. I have the motivation to do it. I just feel like I don't have enough time to manage it until school's over. I also can't get it done on this PC either, so there's that.
In fact, this PC being a potato is 25% the reason why I've been inactive so much. The other 75% is everything else.
Almost everything I've been doing nowadays eats up either a crapton of processing power due to how old this laptop is or how much RAM it's eating up.
Keep in mind, this laptop was pretty good for its time. It's currently... 3 years old, now? 'Kay yeah, three years. It's running an AMD processor, which is kinda meh, it has 6 gigs of ram, and this old AMD graphics card can't handle many current-gen games we have today, unless they're indie games that don't require hardcore graphics cards.
So I've been saving every little bit of money I got here and there, as well as some family helping me a little. And I've been able to save up enough money to get a better computer after like, 7 months, or something, I lost track of time already...
I was able to get THIS monster of a PC. It hasn't arrived yet, and I'm not showing off the price because of reasons. :v
It should allow me to be able to keep track of everything I want to work on, as I plan on buying a second monitor (I already have a decent monitor my mom gave me sitting here waiting for the new PC) later down the line as well, allowing me to multitask more efficiently.
With this, I'll be able to work on my game, and then whenever I'm taking a break from it, I could either write or play some game that won't murder the computer by loading it. (When you load enough minecraft modpacks, you begin to notice how much RAM they love to eat up. Like wtf.) Or some strange mixture of the two, without dealing with this laptop's limitations. And with less stuff being used on the laptop, I could probably delete all the apps I won't be using on it anymore and just use it for things like writing and minor gaming whenever I'm going on long road trips or too lazy to get up from bed.
Once school ends in two weeks, I'll be graduating, and I'll have more time to focus on learning how to make games and write every now and then. (Slightly less often than I used to write, but more often than what I do now.) Until then, Equestria's Time won't get a new chapter too soon. I already know how the chapter will go, I just need to actually write it.
And as for HILIE? Is it over? I don't know. Is it?
That's all I got for now, thanks for putting up with all my inactivity and such. Hopefully it'll get better once school's over...
