You know, when I asked for ideas for the Cloptober Challenge, I was reasonably confident I'd be done with Suck by now. As it turns out, while I'm mostly done with the ending, I find myself wondering if I'm tying the plot points, if it's going too long, etc. I'm actually thinking of splitting the ending in two and using what I have now as a Chapter 9.
A commenter on a story I was reading brought up something rather interesting. In most fan-fiction, Rainbow Dash is described as being cyan-colored. However, this is not the case. Now, the linked pic is not being, as I'd say, polite or constructive, but the point is made. Cyan is far too strong a color for G4 Rainbow Dash.
OK, here's a little something for editing. Now, as you probably know, FIMFiction.net uses BBCode for submitting stories. Yes, one could use Google Drive, but I could never get it to work, so I usually use LibreOffice Writer to make a new HTML document and type up my fic there, then save the HTML file and use the source code (open the HTML doc with a
Ok, here's something interesting. With "Suck" up to Chapter 2, I got 45 faves for it. However, I have only 30 likes against 7 dislikes. Who faves without liking? And why? Wouldn't you like it if it were a favorite? Or am I missing something?
With the lack of track function, some people do not rate until the series is complete. Fav has become just a track function, especially if you want an email about it. I haven't read it yet, but it's on my Read Later list.
Yeah, I have a story with the same thing going on. It has 20 favs, but 13 likes. It's wierd...
My best guess is that people are undecided on whether they truly like it, and just want to see where the story goes. It's more of a tracking thing. I often fav stories when I see potential, and don't vote until I see the story unfold.
331640 Ditto. I liked and fav'd, but at chapter 1, it's, IMHO, too early to fav. I fav'd to track, liked because I liked it, and wanted more. I had to fav to get the "more" sent right to me. *lazy pony*
What everyone else has said, favorites are meaningless. As the site admin made clear Favorite is the term that Internet Explorer uses for Bookmarks and we should use it as such.
I hate to thumb up something early because if the story changes and I no longer care for it (but don't hate it) there is no way to get rid of the thumb up without changing it to a thumb down (which a lot of times is to harsh).
Really? For one of my stories, a cross over of MLP and Tom and Jerry, I got fifty four likes, two dislikes, and fifty five favorites. Now tell me who favorites a story without liking it?

331640 OK, that makes enough sense, I suppose.
