This will be short and sweet:
* Sorry bronies, but Sparity ain't gonna happen.
* As to how Twilight & Rarity were able to be one step ahead of Spike & Ember:
i) Rule of Funny.
ii) Unless Twilight has visited that cave before, teleportation only works if you are familiar with the location of the destination. So it is not teleportation.
iii) Ponies are small enough to slip through cracks and shortcuts that dragons can not see nor fit. (e.g. the same way an X-Wing can get into the trenches of the Death Star)
iv) Ponies are smart enough to look for shortcuts.
* Considering the lack of larger elder and mature dragons in this ep, I predict a dragon civil war to break out for the season finale. Ember's faction will need to form an official alliance ("friendship") with the ponies to survive. Negotiating for the ponies will be Spike and Starlight.
