    Thoughts on S8:E1 + 2 "School Daze"

"Gee Chancellor, what are we going to do tonight?"

"The same thing we do every night Pinkie. TRY TO TAKE OVER EQUESTRIA... (via its educational system)"

    They're Pinkie and the Neigh,
    YEs Pinkie and the Neigh.
One is a genius, the other's insane.
    They have equine looks.
They do things by the book.

Equestria Girls has a problem. It's Tenchi Muyo! without Tenchi

I just saw Forgotten Friendship. And once again, the plot is the same: an Equestrian Maguffin was banished to the EqG realm; ergo EqG has to deal with the problem Equestria wouldn't/couldn't handle. Before you say, "that's just the Equestrian Girls' plot gimmick," let me tell you that another franchise suffered for repeating this same plot over and over and over.

Where's Dinky?
It's Pinkie and the Neigh, Neigh, Neigh, Neigh, Neigh.

- Many head cannons have been confirmed: Ponies are officially elitist, speciest bastards.

- Say goodbye to the CMC. Now that their arcs are completed, it's time to move on to a next, "Next generation" cast of characters.

- Okay, Starlight Glimmer has won me over. I am finally on the Glim-Glam bandwagon. I really hope she had some fun by herself throughout the events of the movie. Perhaps she went through the mirror to hang out with Sunset. Can we finally get a Starlight emoji here, please?

- Considering how he left, and how unconvinced he was when he left, I'm sure we have seen the last of Chancellor Neighsay. It seems derivative of Season 5, but I am not unconvinced he will be a part of the season finale. If there was only some miracle we can get Hasbro/DHX to make a deal with WB animation to get that dream crossover I referenced before the page break... :pinkiehappy:

- Considering the humongous cast for this two-parter, it's nice to see every character get a moment in the spotlight. The Mane 6, the students, the rulers/parental figures of the next-gen cast, and even Spike had some great one-liners.

- Hey, Angel Bunny wasn't being a dick! Okay, who are you, and what have you done with the real Angel Bunny? :yay:

- So the Mane 6 have no idea how to teach, and not one pony ever thought to ask Cheerilee? You know, AN ACTUAL TEACHER!?!!! :facehoof:

- Finally, how the heck are the Mane 6 going to find time to teach in this school? AJ has Sweet Apple Acres (unless she's gonna leave all to Big Mac and Apple Bloom to take care of it), Rainbow Dash is now a Wonderbolt. Rarity has 3 stores to run. Fluttershy has her animals, (and doesn't she also have that animal sanctuary as well?) And Pinkie helps run Sugarcube Corner. Twilight is going to have to settle for Cranky, Discord, Trixie, Steven Magnet, Maud Pie, Thorax's brother, Tirek's brother, Cheese Sandwich, Tempest, the Pillars (plus Stygian), Ember's dad (he's retired; he has nothing better to do), Moondancer, Sunburst, the pony version of Wallflower Blush, and perhaps the Crusaders themselves to become the faculty at her new school.
