So now that I've got in the writing game, I realize that the amount of time you spend writing one fic and thinking about its story-line often leads to coming up with ideas for other stories, which are then saved for later. So what is the product of my revelation?
In regards to In The Money this means that for every several chapters I put out, I'll break it up by writing a shorter (1-3 chapters), more lightweight story that won't be linked to the main fic under production. Realistically this does slow down the completion of the bigger work, but that is as much for my benefit as it is to give everyone else something to look at. Having these gaps in writing In The Money not only gives me time to think about what could happen next, but it allows my brain to refresh from trying to pump out a load of stuff on one topic. I dunno if feeling a need to do that sounds healthy or not reading it back.
Either way, one of the above mentioned (likely) one-shots is now underway and you can expect to see it in the next couple days.
Until then!
