Wow. Seriously I have been unable to load this site for that long.

    In other news:

I am not in Afghanistan (Haven't been for a fairly long time)
    Cons:
    Not in the US
Not in a location that furthers my contract (contract can be considered "extended" for the foreseeable future)

It has been brought to my attention

    That my cousin:

    1: Got himself a DVR
2: Got himself a YouTube account (finally)
3: Understood that GoldenArbiter becomes incredibly bored

    I am alive

As the title say, I am.

Onwards to what has nerfed me from this and many other sites. (I've been gone, what, a month?)
    1. I have been really busy due to my work with an average of 108.5 hrs of my being active in my job.
(If that doesn't make full sense, ask and I might be able to explain better)

Yawning is apparently not allowed · 3:21am Aug 29th, 2012

Today (Yesterday) I yawned.
As per some law I did not know of, yawning is apparently not allowed.
Meaning: I was yawning when an IED went off, I now have a hole through my cheek (left side)

So remember kids, don't yawn in Afghanistan!

Also iloveportalz0r made me laugh.
Don't laugh when you have a hole in your cheek, a pro tip!

Shit, you ok? Well, no whistling for you then :fluttershysad: Reminds me of a scene from Saving Private Ryan (I think) where a soldier takes a bullet through both cheeks. Not the cheeks you're thinking of :raritywink:

319475
Yeah I'm fine, just can't eat comfortably for a bit and have really odd sounding English, or whistle (forgot about that).
I think I've seen that one.

319483 Besides, I'm vastly better off than the truck that was hit.

319491 Anyone seriously wounded? :fluttershysad:
Well, I guess if you weren't yawning that shrapnel might have gone further up :applejackconfused: So, you off operations for a week or two?

319506
I know this is declassified, usually is the minute such happens.

American: 0 KIA, 4 Wounded
British: 0 KIA, 0 Wounded (A God-send, they needed a break)
Afghan: ~7 KIA, 1 Wounded

The Afghan National Army Truck hit it, nothing left except what got stuck in our trucks, and flipped/turned my truck on to it's side.

True probably would've hit around the upper lip area, taking meds and get off for 3 days.

319526 Damn. Do the ANA actually have APCs or any form of armour to move in, or do they just use transport trucks? Hope the other blokes are ok too. 3 days... sounds like you're going to have a few enjoyable days then :applejackunsure: How long left of the tour?

319545 No, most of their transports are Toyota trucks dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Redheart_gasp.png . They are, mostly concussions and shock - 3rd largest IED yet in Afghanistandl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Twilight_crazy.png . Maybe, I don't like hospitals, 0.6 years or 7.2 months or ~216 days

319558 Yeah, no bueno day for all involved.

319563 3rd largest? Damn, headaches all around then. And Toyota trucks, reminds me of the Libya uprising when the rebels mounted AA guns on them.

Should come with a Middle East upgrade package.

For only 3 extra camels, receive a 40mm anti-aircraft gun and air conditioning! Overthrow your dictator in comfort, today!

319603 Yup, I'm soo glad we make it a habit to be pretty far away from ANA trucks(they drive like they had road rage and tend to be bad drivers). I can completely see that being a business :rainbowderp:

319614 Well, jolly good of them to take up the role of minesweeper for you :rainbowderp: They are aware the roads explode with no warning, right?

319628 True when their trucks are heavy enough, almost always seem to be anyway. Maybe, I don't know, they are almost always on cloud nine dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/shrug_Rainbow_Dash.png

319603
Fail :facehoof:
[youtube=Bz3JUggcXqY]

Nice. Were you driving? Cause that may be a stain on your record.

319892
That was a 12.7mm AA Gun or a 20mm at most, but besides the point, it would be for the fun.

320640
I was lucky. Nope in the turret - that's my position when we are mounted, it was a stain are the nearby plate.

319526 Oh, your with on of the groups training ANA? I am so sorry....

But yah, the brits really do need a break... They seem to always be in the worst of it....

323333 We train them in-tandem with another unit and most of what we do is patrol acting as a QRF for nearby units.

They really do, it makes up most of our calls (does not help the Brit's aren't allowed to suppressive fire)

323399 Well, they don't have the massive supply trains that you do... They probably don't have the ammo to be able to do that.

323405 My unit carries its own ammo, food and water, we pick-up allocated supplies at bases and drive off to the next point we're supposed to be at and do whatever we're supposed to do there - but that's off topic - They do have the ammo, they are commanded (by their brass) to not suppressive fire...

323416 Of course... The problem always lies with command.

323425 get promoted to field marshal, and kick everyone who is stupid out?

323430 I have not clue how one even gets into the UK's Military :applejackunsure:
Beside, I'm not officer material :rainbowlaugh:

323481 :rainbowkiss: Yes, unexpected joke is received well!

323484 Just cause I'm not in the military yet, doesn't mean I don't know most of the old adages. Practically everyone I know is a member or has been a member of the Canadian armed forces.

(also, finally someone who enjoys that joke. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Lyra.png )

323487 It's just not as common as a body might expect is all. Really need to find out if they have a unit near me (or here at all, pretty sure they do dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/shrug_Derpy_Hooves.png )

(I'm Enlisted, it's a requirement to "josh" the "Blue Bloods", as they put us (grunts) down for being sweaty and having atrocious table manners :pinkiehappy:)

323496 *snicker* A unit of what? Canadians?

323502 Aye,
:trixieshiftleft: I know that I heard French a few weeks ago...

323503 Could just be the french then... Where are you located, I might be able to point you in the right direction. (feel free to send a pm)

323507 Helmand Province (The closest I'm allowed to describe anyways)

323525 All Canadian elements are currently in Kandahar province.

323561 One province over and the next one I'll be in as well
Fortune has smiled!

323568 Eeyup. Might not find many though. We've only got 250 soldiers there all and all. (last public estimate at least)

323595 Somehow missed this comment dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Octavia_O_O.png
They aren't bad, pretty good bunch they are :ajsmug:

338280
I think so, went through a Canadian base (stayed for ~ 10 min)
They're a "building" unit (Provincial Reconstruction Team)

338280
They let us use their showers :rainbowkiss:,
that's why they are a good bunch!

338640 Canadian showers are best showers.

How's your face?

338649 Maybe, the water was warm
Not bad, nearly tore the stitching out laughing at something though (got our medic pissed:rainbowlaugh:)
The scar will probably look like a slim diamond that may/almost connect to the corner of my mouth.

338669 How do you define bad-assery?
Symmetrical Jagged? If so then, yes.
