My Little Blog: ARGUMENTS! · 11:44pm Apr 6th, 2016
HOLY SHIT!
Okay so here I was, minding my own business and trying to edit chapter 3 of The CMC's Destiny, when all of a sudden I get a call from one of my best friends, Christina. So I wondered what the hell she wanted, because we hadn't texted at all about a phone call and I was pretty busy. I pick up the phone and say hi, and she IMMEDIATELY says that there was a problem. So I stopped typing, and asked her what was going on. Turns out, on the facebook group chat me and my 4 friends use, my two friends Livia and Makenna were BLOWING UP at each other. I quickly went on facebook to see what the fippity fuck was going down, and Christina filled me in as I read some of the argument. She created a new group for everyone (since Livia and Makenna were both deleting each other on the first group chat) and I said:
"WHAT IN THE ACTUAL NAME OF THE FUCKING FLAP JACKS ARE YOU TWO DOING??"
They kept arguing on the new chat, even though I had told them MULTIPLE times to shut up so we could resolve this, and then I realized that this heated conversation wasn't going to be solved unless I called them both, and TALKED to them by voice. I made sure both of them would be calm about the situation, and I asked for each of their sides of the story, summarizing it multiple times to make sure they understood, and asked questions and made points so we could get a clear view on how each one felt about the blasted argument. After I had basically made it to where everyone knew that they were already sorry for things they had said that hurt the others feelings, and complete misunderstandings, I had them apologize for each detail that disturbed the other and I got them to make up!!! Yay!!
AND IT WAS PAINFUL! But I think I took the situation nicely and resolved it completely.
There is great trauma in having friends...... friendship is magic?
Friendship is magic because it isn't quite like anything else.
What you had was a great opportunity to strengthen your friendship. Once selfishness and pride is but aside, we stop taking notices of tiny, minute flaws in each other, learn to forgive and ultimately grow.
I've had similar experiences and you're right, it can be frustrating, especially when both parties won't get over themselves...but it can be a great opportunity to learn about each other and grow.
So well done you for handling it well!
