Courage Of The Heart C1

Courage of the heart has its first chapter finished. after a set back in submitting the story i merged pchapter one and part of chapter 2 together. This had the welcome side effect of making the chapter look more complete and generally made me feel better about the story. for those who actually ready these things (i know at least one will) then you know i don't have a very good track record with my stories and completing them.

However i would like to point out that "Courage Of The Heart" isn't actually a new story. In fact it is a very old one from me. My first FanFic, and while it already looks completely unrecognizable from the original, I am proud to say that it still has its roots. It is still about the same pony 'Azure Lining' for those that never say my original fic then you haven't been introduced to my Character.

Azure Lining is a (you guessed it) Azure pony. She is a Thestral (bat pony) and an adventurer. much like Daring Do she has come across powerful relics and can fly. this is however where the similarities end. Unlike Daring Do she didn't always her out of danger scott free (or tied up by cats, praise the moon!). over the course of her adventures she has become scarred and battered. Her barrel has scarring on it from the various traps she wasn't able to avoid. She lost her eyesight as a price for an artifact. Just above her eye on one side is a metal plate permanently attached to her head to cover a cursed wound that never heals.

All in all? Azure's life sucks. She has to use her Thestral hearing to see the world. (kinda like echolocation) as such she can never go home and just relax. or sit next to a pond and sunbathe no she needs to be in a crowded location or a jungle full of sounds.

When our story begins We find Azure in a rainstorm heading for the inn in her home town of Ponyvile

And here we already have a change. in the original chapter one we had Azure coming home to find that she had been gone so long that her home had been sold by the town. putting her out on the streets. this was the first thing that i changed, this was to harsh. why would i do that to someone who had already suffered so much? ad so we find our self in a inn common room/tavern. And here is the most important change to the story.

Heart Song.

Heart Song is a unicorn that loves to have fun. very literally the exact opposite of Azure, She is bright orange with a cherry red mane. Unlike Azure she has lived a happy life pretty much free or troubles. she doesn't even have to work as her family is fairly wealthy. She has everything. There's just one problem.

Heart is BORED. nothing ever changes in ponyvile. wake up go about your day do your job sleep repeat till Tuesday, then panic about a rampaging monster go home repeat your week.

Which brings up back to our current point in time. Azure has just stumbled into the bar (sweet glorious sounds!) well at least that's what it was before she walked in. now it as quite as a crypt, stumbling over to the bar keep she tries to get a room for the night, not knowing what is about to befall her. For when she walked in, Heart Song found something NEW or some pony at least. somepony exciting...
