Appreciation Update (Outdated Blog)

Now then, for the update...

As you know, a Side Story for Appreciation is going to come out no earlier than February 21 but no later than March 6. A Side Story for this wasn't originally intended but the more I read back on it while proofreading and thinking about it, the more a Side Story made sense to me.

I noticed that in the Main Story, it has left some things out about Twilight and Rarity's perspective on things. However, I wanted the main focus of the Main Story to be on Spike. In fact, I cut out a part that was briefly focused on Rarity because it made more sense to just put it in the Side Story instead since it detracted some of the focus from Spike.

The story's focus was supposed to be on Spike's internal struggles growing up to be someone without Twilight's guardianship. Then I said, "Twilight and Rarity grew up as well before becoming Mares. I'm sure they had their fair share of struggles, so why not?"

It would also give an explanation as to how Twilight and Rarity knew what to say to Spike when he returned to the Golden Oak Library.

So there you have it. The Side Story is currently in the works and already has over a thousand words. I expect it to be around 3K, if not longer.
