[Metacritic Monday] Star Wars: The Force Awakens (No Spoilers) · 5:14pm Jan 18th, 2016

Finally! Yes! I did it on a Monday!

Hello everyone! My name is SuperKamek and welcome back to another episode of "Metacritic Monday", where I bitch and complain about people who bitch and complain. This week's episode is none other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens! It has been critically acclaimed, critically panned, and critically everything-ed. I haven't seen a movie so torn down the middle since "Superman: Man of Steel". And I know I've said all this shit in the last Metacritic Monday, but I'm dead serious. But alas, there are just some really stupid people out there.

Please, please, PLEASE take note that I will not be ripping apart reviews that are actually legit. If someone dislikes a game for a reason, I'm all okay with that. What I'm NOT okay with is false information, like those stupid "0/10" reviews you find sometimes. Also take note that this is for entertainment and comedy purposes only, so I will be exaggerating a few points I make. So, without further ado, let's delve into Metacritic Monday!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a great movie. Is it perfect? No, it still has it's fair share of flaws. But is it the shitfest everyone makes it out to be? Absolutely not. The Force Awakens is probably the best movie I've seen this year, and even if I didn't like it, I would still have to respect J.J. for doing his best in recreating the Star Wars feel with live props, surprisingly good writing and acting, and fleshed out characters. Or maybe I would just respect him for putting in 200 million FUCKING dollars into this movie. Needless to say, he got every penny back.

We're doing two short ones today. Why? Because why not? I think I want to express my absolute anger towards these two because of how idiotically stupid they are. Like I mentioned before, it's okay to have an opinion. If you hate the movie, that's fine. But for god's sake, please just do your research before you decide to bitch about things like this. Like how I'm doing right now! Hurray! So, let's start, shall we?

I'm giving this a 0 because it's incomprehensible for this to get a 10. This is a fundamentally flawed movie. The writing is horrible. JJ absolutely was the worst director for this series. SO many unexplained plot points that make no sense. This is an insult to the Star Wars franchise. It is so obvious this lacks George Lucas's creative vision.

No logic at all. Goddamned copy of episode 4 in favourite Disney style. Very bad continuation of great saga. J. J. Abrams ruined Lucas's property. I am going to read books from EU.

...oh jeez.

I'm giving this a 0 because it's incomprehensible for this to get a 10.

Not even a seven? A four, even? A fucking two?

This is a fundamentally flawed movie.

Check again!

The writing is horrible.

Is it now? Then why did my sister laugh at it's jokes? Y'know, my monotone, boring sister? True story.

JJ absolutely was the worst director for this series.

Clearly you haven't seen the prequels. :rainbowlaugh:

SO many unexplained plot points that make no sense.

Dude, there are going to be two more movies. Chill, alright?

This is an insult to the Star Wars franchise.

Again, clearly you haven't seen the prequels. :rainbowlaugh:

It is so obvious this lacks George Lucas's creative vision.

Here's the thing though, bud; the first movies didn't have all of George Lucas's creative vision. Through them, he had help and people telling him "maybe we shouldn't do that...", or "this may be better than...". That's how the Star Wars films were as good as they were. If George was pulling the reins of the entire movie, they'd come out something like this:

...oh, wait, that already happened. But as we've established before, you've never really seen the prequels, have you?

No logic at all.

Goddamned copy of episode 4 in favourite Disney style

...I have no idea what the hell this means. Anyone? Anyone at all?

Very bad continuation of great saga.

Half of a great saga. Honest mistake.

J. J. Abrams ruined Lucas's property.

It's not even Lucas's property to begin with. :derpytongue2:

I am going to read books from EU.

You go do that then.

And that concludes today's Metacritic Monday, finally on a Monday! Everyone please comment down below to show your thoughts on this episode. Do you agree or disagree? Either way, I won't care, so HA!! Nah, I'm just pulling your leg. Though, if I have to say one good thing about these two idiots?

They didn't watch the prequels.

Loved the movie, but that probably because i'm in it for the shipping.

What.... what were these 'reviews' even thinking?

It was on my top 5 list, but only at #5. I will admit that the plot holes will probably be fixed in later movies, but until then I'm juding the film as its presented. And even with the plot holes, this was still an excellent film.

But it figures it'd be targeted by metamen

Well, I suppose we can ship whatever we want...

...even if it's a 16-year difference. :applejackunsure:

3695236
Nothing, I would assume. :rainbowlaugh:

Kinda reminds me of the fanboy outcry at Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Let's review: a holy artifact that destroys all who look at it, mind control via a drug, the Sankara Stones, a Thugee cult, surviving a drop out of an airplane with only a rubber raft, the Holy Grail, and a man rapidly aging to death are all perfectly logical, but aliens and surviving a nuclear explosion in a lead-lined fridge are all of a sudden illogical after all that?

Translation: it's new, therefore it sucks. You see that a lot with fanboys.

I'm with the Nostalgia Critic on this one. Sure this movie does seem to copy a lot from the first movie, but that is kinda understandable. After all, J.J had to try and rekindle people's hope of Star Wars after the prequels. I'm sure he wanted to play it kinda safe for this one, before taking some more chances with the others.

So overall, I give this a 8.5/10. Can't wait to see the next movie:twilightsmile:

3695237
Well, Metamen target everything, so... :applejackunsure:

3695413
Some things more so then others. DMC devil may cry, CoD, and anything main stream.

3695277
In their blindness, they forget their "Holy originals" weren't so perfect either. :rainbowlaugh:

3695302
Now you see? THAT'S a fair review! Nice job!

3695439
Kind of like the hate on people have for Blues Brothers 2000.

It wasn't perfect, but it got me interested in Star Wars, so there's that. :applejackunsure:

3695635
You mean you weren't before? Well, at least now you can enjoy episodes 4-6.

And maybe the prequels, if you're really up for it.

3695662 I probably watched them before, it's just been a long time. Though I did watch episode 6 a few hours before the new one.

Hey, I'll admit it; I enjoyed 2-3, I thought they were actually genuinely good films. Fuck episode 1 though, that is an abomination of exposition and midichlorians.

3695915
What, and 2 wasn't? All it is, is explaining... and explaining... and explaining. It only really gets kinda good near the end, but even then it's still kinda... eh...

3695971
It had Samuel L Jackson being a jedi Badass, it makes up for it

3696010
I'm okay with the sitting and talking thing, I watch the old star trek so I'm used to stuff like that

3696031
Doesn't change the fact it's boring as fuck...

3696035
You're boring as fuck!
