Hi, I can't do anything anymore. RIP me.

If you say this, you are lying. You just either said, typed, or morse coded this great message to me, so therefore you did something. If you are this depressed and forget that even small things in life actually matter and affect the world around you, then seek help. Doctors don't get paid in six digits because they put fingers up peoples asses every day!

But all jokes and kappas aside, this is not something you must think. Instead, remember that you are typing, talking, morse coding, or even signing (rep that signing community) to another human being or animal (rep that animal community too dawg) and therefore are doing something.

So yeah, do something. Think, throw shit out your window; anything other than sitting there like a lump on a log and telling me you're unable to function.

To comment on your [reminiscence]:

That's reassuring. Yikes. What you paint your picture with is what people will be feeling. We might as well rename Nag to "Get Shit Done chat" in order to "get shit done".

But Soarin'd just yell at them. He'd tell them to stop being such a downer, to not be so selfish, a little drilling here, a little nosing there. A lot of what they tell you not to do to depressed people cranked up to 11.

I don't tell them they're selfish, but yeah, sometimes people need some tough loving to get through their problems. It does get to them with persistence, so being persistent will show results. Just don't be an absolute asshat while you're "yelling" though. Tends to make the situation more tense and critical than anything.

And you know what? Nobody in that chat ever took any consolation I gave for anything aside from a "Thanks." or an "I'll miss you when I leave/kill myself." But everyone listened to Soarin'. It was quite a fascinating love-hate relationship. He kept their morale up, even if they didn’t like him for it.
