New Favorite - Just Before the Dawn

So, today I had to update my user page. I came across Just Before the Dawn by Drefsab and I have to say, it was fantastic. I already have a bit of a soft spot for good HiE fics (I can't help it, they're a bit of a guilty pleasure for me) and this hit me right in the feels.

Just Before the Dawn is set in the tumultuous period in Equestria immediately after Luna's banishment. The amount of effort put into the world-building really shows. The characters are colorful with distinctive personalities, and the dialogue is well-written and fun to read (with actual character development to boot!). The story is full of heartstring-tugging moments, and the combat scenes are exciting and extremely well-paced. The romance in the story does not feel forced, and flows natural and really adds to the interaction between the two parties. No spoilers here!! Go read it yourself!

If you are looking for a new guilty pleasure to indulge in, I'd definitely recommend Just Before the Dawn. It's a great read!
