Hello fellow bronies.
I've returned to the world of the living, despite what some of you might've written on my user page 
I'd like to tell you all why I've been inactive for about half a year, and why my most popular story has not been updated for one and a half (wow, time sure flies...).
I used to think this fandom was the most awesome thing ever, until I realised it had sucked the fun out of everything I enjoyed about the show. Everytime there was a new episode, I'd always go and see what everyone thought about it. People were always disappointed. Always, about some detail or the other.
Flash back to 2012, when I first found out about the show. I binge-watched everything up to that point and loved almost everything about it. No cynical comments, no ships, no innuendo jokes about all and everything the characters did. Just plain old My Little Pony. One might say I'm nostalgic, and I'd say you're right.
I guess I just missed the old kind of innocence I had, strange as it may sound.
And then there's the thing about this website, and the fanfic community... oh, boy.
I've made a blog post about it before, but I want to share once again how horrible I felt about everything I did wrong in A Game of Survival. I've made people disappointed, I've gotten nitpicks upon nitpicks and then some.
You might say I'm overreacting, and I agree! But the feelings were there anyway.
One day I realised just how proportionally unreal it was for me to feel so bad about a fanfic about ponies.
A damn fanfic. About ponies.
So I dropped everything. I stopped watching the show, I stopped going to derpibooru and I stopped going to this forsaken website. I dropped all tumblrs I followed, I avoided anything related to MLP like the plague.
Until recently that is. In a moment of weakness (and nostalgia I suppose), I decided to sit down and watch the rest half of season 5 I had supposedly left for good and...
...I loved it. Because I did it like the old times. I didn't go on the internet to read everyone's opinion. I just watched an episode, liked it, and watched the next.
Not to mention snarky Spike's revival in "What about Discord?" (No really, it's not often I feel so downright gleeful about something in a cartoon.) That's part of Spike's true character, something I haven't seen since season 2 if I'm not mistaken.
So... now I'm here again. Things have been looking bleak in the Spike shipping department, both here and on derpibooru. I need more of it.
And just to not be a whiny shipper, I've decided to update "A Game of Survival." More SpikeDash for you all.
Yes you heard me. I'm updating that old thing.
As for the chapter after that... heheehehahhahahehahHAHAHEHAHHAHAHHEHAHHHAH. Don't expect it any sooner than any other chapters. Sorry.
TL;DR: I tired of the fandom, left it for a while, came back and posted a new chapter of "A Game of Survival"
(If there are some super great fanfics with Spike/anyone that have appeared in my absence, tell me!)

I kind of know how you feel. There's a reason I don't really mingle with any fandoms apart from the Mother fandom. I love browsing this site and reading the stories, but I'm never gone into any of the forums, even after a year and a half. There's just too much negativity going on.
On a related note, have you ever noticed how much hate Spike gets over on Equestria Daily comment section? I mean, really?
I don't begrudge people their opinions, but I just don't want to get into that negative mindset. I recognize that problems in the show's writing exist, but overall, I just want to enjoy a cute little show about techicolor ponies.
And for what it's worth, I am very happy to see this story updated, and am equally happy with the chapter itself.

Don't get me started on Equestria Daily. Seriously. I know of it. I've tried to bring a different perspective in the comment section once or twice, but one can only fight an entire army of haters for so long.
Also, seeing as you are a fan of the Mother series, how do you feel about Mother 4?

I wasn't expecting to talk about Mother 4 today though. That said, I honestly don't have much to say about it. It looks pretty good, but I'm reserving judgement until I play it. Are you registered over at Starmen.net?

I've only lurked on starmen.net occasionally.
Even though the Mother series might be one of my favourite RPG series of all time, I've not registered there yet.
It has surprisingly active forum, from what I can see though.

I have half the Prof. Layton series on my plate right now, and those games eat a lot of time.
No I haven't, but I went and saw the trailer just now, and it looks really well made!

The thing about fandoms is that there will always be a wet blanket somewhere, bent on ruining your good time. I find it easier to tune out the negativity and focus on the positives. Because, in the end, we do all this to have fun

I'll probably need another "vacation" from the fandom around season 6 to keep my spirits up.
