I just sent my new Christmas story into submission!
Edit: It's approved and tagged below. ^^
I wrote this story... differently than you'd expect to read for the Christmas holiday. This has been on my mind a lot recently... and I thought Christmas would be a good time to share it. It's a rather important topic that many of us have forgotten... including myself. More info on it can be found below... also, there aren't any real spoilers (just the long description and a few minor things) for those of you that don't like spoilers.
Vinyl Scratch's younger sister, Octavia, always smacked. All her life, Vinyl hated the sounds of loud chewing. But now that she is deaf... That is all she wants to hear.
This is my long description. Not very long, hmm? Well, it's longer than my short description. Not to mention that... I don't think it has to be super long in order to reach the reader's mind. Think about that for a minute. Vinyl hated. Hate is a strong word. She utterly despised smacking. And now that is all she wants.
Now for something that will deeper explain my motives for this story. I didn't write it like Angel Kisses for the feels. I didn't write it like Discord's Immortality for the sadness. I did not write this story like (Not) Alone on Hearth's Warming for the realism. I wrote this because I expressed myself through the main character, Vinyl Scratch.
This part might give away spoilers based upon how you interpret it. I will put it in smaller letters because of that. This is directly from my author's note.
Someone with perfect hearing would hate to hear nails on a chalkboard, breaking glass, or ... smacking. But someone without hearing would do anything to hear even the most annoying of sounds, even for just a moment. Let's be thankful this Christmas for what we have, and give unto others love and joyfulness. 'Tis the season of giving, after all.
That's only a part of my author's note. But this is what Christmas is. As most of you know, I am a Christian. I celebrate Christmas as the remembrance of Jesus being born as a human on earth, to live among us- to someday die for us because he loved us. This story has a hidden theme in it- We don't deserve what we have, and sometimes we hate what we have; but it's better than what we don't have. Vinyl lost her favorite thing for Christmas, yet she did not care. That is what a sacrifice is. Like my Thanksgiving story (A Forgotten Holiday), let's give others what we couldn't give ourselves. Jesus took the price of death to give us a second life. Now let's do our best to give everyone what we couldn't afford to do for ourselves. Maybe not financially, but emotionally, socially- love someone you don't particularly like. Be nice to someone that isn't nice to you. Because our time is limited, and you might regret it more than you hate/dislike it once it's gone.

3629022 I understand. My response to anyone that is offended is "don't get mad at me. If I offend you with my religion, it's not my fault- I'm just the messenger." Anyways, thanks! I hope you like it. The story isn't religious, so that shouldn't make anyone run off.
Can't wait to read it!!!! Sounds amazing!
