Banned by Chatoyance · 5:12am Dec 3rd, 2015
If I misled you, let that end here: Chatoyance did not recently comment-ban me. It was long ago, though I believe I remember the hilarious details: I had given criticism, some positive, some negative, of one or more of her stories, and this led her to ban me from her comments section more than a year later. That event itself was over a year ago, and the reason I bring it up now is that I had completely forgotten about it when I tried to respond to a post addressed to me by Chatoyance! To be fair, I could hardly expect Chatoyance—or anyone—to remember the hordes of individuals she has no doubt banned. I distinctly recall that I once observed her give someone advice amounting to, "Anyone whose comment makes you feel bad about anything, in any way, does not deserve your attention and should be banned." (Not an actual direct quote.)
Anyway, so I forgot that I was banned, and Chatoyance replied to me and a bunch of other people (no doubt also banned) to defend the anti-male sentiment in one of her stories as 100% based in fact. I typed up a response, found out that it could not be posted, and went here instead, because I can post it here.
Chatoyance, if you read this, feel free to comment.
6692286 I will start by reminding you of the quote that you are justifying:
98% of all violence was committed by males alone
So let's see how your evidence supports this claim. After all, according to you,
Every single thing in The Friendship Virus is based on fact.
First source named, first paragraph, second sentence:
80% of known offenders (481,000+) were men
Oh dear. Didn't Google tell you that 80% is less than 90%?
Wikipedia:
Archer's meta-analysis[6] found that women suffer 65% of domestic violence injuries.
Let's cut to the chase: can you link me to a single study published by anyone ever compatible with the claim that 98% of all violence is/was perpetrated solely by males?
P.S. Lest a reader think that the 98% figure was just a hyperbolic number not meant to be taken seriously, I give you this comment made at a similar time to the one I'm responding to (more than three years after my initial comment with the 98% quote): "All of the world's police, for example, universally admit that 98% of all violent crime is committed purely and only by males."
That last statement is particularly interesting, because it implies that someone still believes the police when they say things, or worse, might be trusting law enforcement officers to do rigorous statistical analysis.
I find that more immediately implausible.
Edit: Also, I find it strange to claim that data of sufficient reliability could be compiled in a timely manner from every municipal region on a planet with billions of police-regulated humans.
