Fret

A few hobbies of mine would be animating, drawing, and writing. Wouldn't it be crazy if I got a job that includes one of those in the future? ...Pfft... Naaah....

okay, so i haven't been on here for a long time. a very, very long time.

the reasons for this was originally that i was working on another fanfic for another fandom (steven universe), but i can't say that's the reason anymore.

    Thank you (and other stuff)

So remember that story I wrote a while back about Luna? Yeah, that one where she was depressed and got help? Well, all the comments I've gotten are so nice and I just keep coming back to read them regularly. There's one problem though - I've barely replied to any of them! There's a reason for that... I'm just not good at replying to things. I realize I could just say 'thank you' to everyone but

An actual review of The Cutie Re-Mark

So after my little case of déjà vu yesterday, I decided to go ahead and review this episode like I did with the premiere of season 5. Soooo let's get started.

I don't see how anyone can't love this episode. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. 10/10. Goodbye.

    That new episode though

I don't know why, but I got a sense of deja vu.

Haven't a clue to why that would be.

    Not at all.

MixMassBasher has kindly done a review of my story 'Choice'. Remember that story? That one that exists purely to make you cry? Yes, well, a review of it exists now.

So after my little case of déjà vu yesterday, I decided to go ahead and review this episode like I did with the premiere of season 5. Soooo let's get started.

Actually that's not true. There are two problems I have with this episode. The first one is how quick Starlight's redemption was... But at the same time I'm not that bothered. It's not just a problem in this episode, it's a problem in literally all redemption episodes, and I honestly think that this is one of the best so far, since one, she didn't give in straight away, and two, the outcome of this redemption is a huge change to the status quo. Like, is Starlight a mane six now? Does that mean they're are two pegasi, two earth and now two unicorns with a lead alicorn? SEASON 6 GET HERE RIGHT NOW.

The other problem I have isn't actually the episodes fault, and that is that we don't get to see a lot of some of the timelines, such as the Tirek timeline. To be fair to the episode, out doesn't have enough time for that, so I'm not too disappointed. I had wondered if they could go into more detail with this if it was all one big timeline rather than different ones, so like the war with Sombra could be happening during the reign of Nightmare Moon, but if they did that then they would have to scrap other villains' returns, which would suck.

Now for the things I loved.

ZECORA/CHRYSALIS FIGHT NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THAT. Zecora has had barely any screen time this season, but her in this episode makes up for it. I love how they used her character here - a tribe leader in the Everfree forest hiding from changelings. Josh Haber, you get a cookie!
Also, I stand by the statement that Nightmare Moon is a badass. She just waltzed into the Everfree and killed all of those Timberwolves off, along with threatening Twi with the intention of killing off Spike. And I wasn't at all expecting Solar Flare to come into the picture I found it pretty damn harsh that she locked Celie away in the moon. Talk about karma.
Also, the Sombra timeline. A war in a show called 'My Little Pony'. Just... Wow. Either way, I loved it. The roles all of the ponies have to take, Celestia leading soldiers into battle (she's actually DOING something!), RD's design which again looks badass and Maud and Pinkie, again being badass sisters together.

And of course... Starlight Glimmer. She's actually my favourite villain, and I'm sure she'll be one of my favourite characters in S6. Some people have called her backstory weak... But I disagree. It could have been better, yes, but I'm not bothered. Losing your best friend can hurt, and events like that at such a young age can affect one greatly. Just take in the important lesson from this episode - DO NOT ANGER STARLIGHT.

There are other things too, like the animation fitting the mood of each timeline with its visuals and such. Also, those Timberwolves look even better, I think due to them having no lineart on their models and the animation just being a lot smoother. And again, how threatening Starlight really is. Oh, and Spike is at his best, being the voice of reason in Twi's panicky moments and being quite chill throughout most of the timelines.

Yeah, episode. Great. Love it. Can't wait for next season.

But seriously, why couldn't Solar Flare become canon? Actually, I know why. There's one detail in NENH that isn't here, and that is the elements not existing. Nightmare had the choice to banish Celestia to the moon, so she did. She didn't have that choice in my fanfic, so my fanfic is still accurate... Apart from the fact that they're not at war with Sombra. DAMMIT NOW I HAVE TO REWRITE THE WHOLE THING.

Okay, no, I'm not doing that.
